Marc Goddard actually was an MMA fighter. Hwe fought the fairly scary James Thompson many years ago in HW class. Twice, I think!!
Thompson was fairly obviously juiced to the gills.

1st fight was some grappling.... (Marc lost)
2nd Fight didn't last too long.... (Marc lost)
Goddard weighed 235lbs and Thompson 260lbs.

Goddard is the worst ref in the UFC easily. 1st in the main events, he puts in his bs religious beliefs onto everyone, and then acts all high and mighty in the ring. Its like dude you just fuckin rolled out of prison so quit the high horse bs you puttin out on everyone. 2nd, he stops too many fights way to early.

The best refs are the ones that you don't even know are there. You ALWAYS know Goddard is in there.

I would've liked to see both the Pereira/Jiri and Aljo/O'Malley fights not get stopped so early. I think Goddard stepped in too early on both. They both probably have the same results but I would've like to see both Aljo and Jiri get a little more time to fight back.

A good ref is one you barely notice is even there. And Goddard blends right into any fight he officiates, consistently making the right judgment calls and stoppages
