Manhoef-Marshall was so predictable

what the heck ? Doesn't even look like he touched him :P

That's what a gif with shit framerate will do for you. In actual video his hand clearly bounced off the back corner of Marshall's skull.

This stoppage was at worst comparable to all the guys who don't really defend the finishing rear naked choke.

Marshall brought a knife to a gunfight, and didn't really have the backup plan that fighters who've stopped Melvin had.

fighters with horrible striking that decide to strike get that name...maia, shields, tito etc

I always liked "Lumpinee Shields".

What I don't get is after Marshall face planted Melvin did a flying punch, it didn't connect. But with how he was going I don't see how it could have connected to anywhere but the back on the head. If that had landed? holy fuck lol.

It was more a slip than a KO. Also the punch was in the back of his head.

That KO was sketch to me. No doubt Manhoef has bombs in his hands, but that grazed punched followed by Marshall somehow being able to cover up after being unconscious seemed strange to me.

EDIT: love the AV ts haha

I thought the same. Eventhough JDS-Cain 1 ended in similar fashion I always get a strange feeling when I see KO's due to punches like this. It looks fake.

Although I thought leg kicks would play a bigger part.

The end reminded me of Shogun KOing Machida.

The leg kicks were how Melvin set up that overhand. He hurt Marshall with a couple of strong leg kicks, and then threw the knock out punch while Marshall was checking.

What ruined it for me was the lack of Melvin's gladiator shorts. Shit was suppose to be battle of the gladiators. Bellator's logo is even a roman helmet.....such a let down.

Marshall wasn't knocked out, he took the first exit once he felt Melvin's power. Super funny considering his "I am a modern day gladiator" spiel during the promo.

That punch barely touched him, if it did at all.

That was kind of embarrasingly easy for manhoef.

It's sad to think Doug Marshall and Brennan Ward were the last 2 MW title contenders. Tamdan absolutely annihilated Ward and Manhoef destroys Marshall. It sure takes some sheen off of Schlemenko's wins.

It did look sketchy to me too. Here is why.

He faceplanted hard, as if he was KO'd. I am fine with that.

Then he covered his head to protect himself ... while the rest of his body still acted KO'd. The fact he covered his head means he was not out.

Then he did not get up and laid there unmoving for a VERY long time .. as if he was KO'd hard .. which he could not have been because he covered his head.

Him being KO'd .. perfectly fine.

Him being flash KO'd .. perfectly fine.

Him getting caught but never going out all the way .. perfectly fine.

The problem is he acted in ways that all 3 of those would have to be true, and that is simply impossible.

I am not saying Bellator rigged it, I have no idea what happened or why, what I do know is that all 3 of those statements would have to be true, and they can't be.

I have said for a while Storm is probably not even top 20 .. or even top 25. BFC MW is horrendous. Storm is a WW who fought at MW because of how weak it was and I bet several BFC WW's would be able to take the 185 strap from him.

Meh, you could discredit wins for any fighter, doesn't mean Schlemenko isn't a legit fighter
