Manafort Pleas, Thank you (Investigation+ thread v. 23)

The Russia investigation.

it seems that some people assumed the Kavanaugh issue somehow cancelled out the Russia Investigation which was wrong. There is an attempt to create a false narrative here that suggests that this investigation is only now being cranked back up as the Kavanaugh issue failed which is also wrong.

The investigation was plowing ahead the entire time. There is no change other than the MSM was more focused on what was bigger news at the moment. That could happen again and again depending on how long this investigation goes and it should be no surprise to anyone.
Yah, I recall hearing talk of Mueller going quiet for the election cycle; it seemed to be an expectation of the right, as if the law should come to a screeching halt so the party in power doesn't look as shady as they clearly are, can't have that

I cant believe this man. As we all know people often times plead guilty to crimes just to disparage other people or because the FBI frightens them as other wise posters in this thread have taught us.
Sure but they often tell the truth for the exact same reasons.

What people on this site seem to fail to understand is that Muller knows he is not winning a he said/ he said battle with the President. He has always been focused on corroboration.

Muller has indictments or pleas from 33 people and 3 Companies that we are aware of. 4 of which were key Trump Advisers and the rest peripheral players.

If what this guys says, jives with what Gates said, jives with what Manafort said, jives with what Flynn said, jives with what Cohen said then simply trying to paint them individually as unreliable will not matter much unless one tries to jump to some grand-conspiracy amongst Trump former loyalists to sync up their stories prior to offering their evidence.

Muller would never stop investigating. I knew he would not as you know the parties he is getting close to will not stop trying to cover their tracks. That narrative was painted by the right, as you say, hoping to pressure him into doing so, in the hopes they retain the House and Trump can then clean house, firing everyone involved in this investigation and bring in a new AG who will 'pause' the investigation as the Repub's are suggesting which is code for kill it, without saying so.

Apparently both manafort and cohen have been spending dozens of hours meeting with Mueller

Validating what we already knew, we get confirmation that the FBI colluded with Hillary Clinton’s team in the handling of their investigation.
Recall that the FBI gave preemptive immunity to Clinton Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills and others. And in a more blatant act of collusion, the FBI investigators claimed not to take notes or videotape Hillary Clinton’s testimony.

Now we get even more shocking revelations that should re-open this investigation, possibly allowing for a new legitimate special counsel.

As Fox News reported,

In a combative exchange at a hearing Friday in Washington, D.C., a federal judge unabashedly accused career State Department officials of lying and signing “clearly false” affidavits to derail a series of lawsuits seeking information about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server and her handling of the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth said he was “shocked” and “dumbfounded” when he learned that FBI had granted immunity to former Clinton chief of staff Cheryl Millsduring its investigation into the use of Clinton’s server, according to a court transcript of his remarks.

“I had myself found that Cheryl Mills had committed perjury and lied under oath in a published opinion I had issued in a Judicial Watch case where I found her unworthy of belief, and I was quite shocked to find out she had been given immunity in — by the Justice Department in the Hillary Clinton email case,” Lamberth said during Friday’s hearing.

The Department of Justice’s Inspector General (IG), Michael Horowitz, noted in his report that it was “inconsistent with typical investigative strategy” for the FBI to allow Mills to sit in during the agency’s interview of Clinton during the email probe, given that classified information traveled through Mills’ personal email account. “[T]here are serious potential ramifications when one witness attends another witness’interview,” the IG wrote.
It doesn’t get any more clear than this.

What people should be asking is why Mueller continues his farce of Russian collusion, when the evidence is overwhelming of a cover-up?

As you consider what Judge Lamberth said, look at the evidence gathered on FBI insiders close to the investigation.

First there is the obvious Clinton bias. The bureau stacked the investigation with agents who undoubtedly supported Clinton. While there are claims the FBI did its job without prejudice, this information proved wrong with text messages.

Which brings me to the second obvious bias: the text messages. Peter Strzok tried to cover his ass, until the second round of emails showcased his true animus towards Donald Trump. He colluded with Lisa Page, their boss Andrew McCabe, and then enlisted the media’s help.

All this happened under the watchful eye of disgraced former FBI Director James Comey. And what few Leftists are willing to admit, Barack Obama stood at the epicenter, asking for them to keep him apprised.
As I wrote earlier, Mueller doesn’t want to release his finding until after the midterms in order to protect the Democrats. This leaves Democrats with two choices.
When they lose the midterms, the jig is up. If they were to win the midterms (and the won’t), they have no ammunition to stonewall things, given the new information.

The article continues,

On Friday, Lamberth, who was appointed to the bench by President Ronald Reagan, said he did not know Mills had been granted immunity until he “read the IG report and learned that and that she had accompanied [Clinton] to her interview.”

Well now he knows. And I suspect this will be a HUGE story, possibly forcing Mueller to release his report sooner, rather than later.

As individuals within the tRUmp campaign and tRUmp org continue to be investigated, plead guilty, and cooperate you continue to believe it's the democrats who will be seeing the wrath of the special counsel?

If you haven’t seen, George P has been dropping bombs on his Twitter.

The truth is being made public and will wipe away any hint of shine that may still remain of Obama’s term.

Guy is dropping names and everything, well worth the read.

And if you don’t think Meuller knows this and the whole thing being a shitshow, then you probably don’t realize why they’re waiting until after the midterms to let Don walk.

So your prediction is that after the midterms, the investigation will soon fizzle out?

And then what? Hillary goes to prison? I think you're putting a whole lot of stock in the public statements of a guy who got slapped on his federal dingaling for lying to the FBI.

I continue to revel in the idea that this dipshit is the current best feed for your internal dialogue, hopes and dreams.

Just you wait, the all new super duper Nunes memo is really gonna blow the roof off this rigged fake witch hunt.

Who said anything about prison? Again, you’re liberal fantasy world is not reality.

I’m the one who’s been telling you nobody in power is ever held accountable (remember me telling you trump will walk?) It will simply be yet another stain on the Obama legacy.

Also, why don’t you go read his posts? Do you prefer being uninformed? Why don’t you make a case against his claims, rather than responding like a NPC?

I have read his stuff, and I don't see how it's more than self-promotion and elaborate CTs. What do you expect to happen? That the liar is right, and everybody conspired to invent a fake Russian plot? Forgive me for wondering how you consider yourself not to be an "NPC" yourself when you're following the words of a person, whose credibility is really bad, like gospel.

Again, nothing you’re referencing is based in reality. You puppet mischaracterizations of opposing opinions rather than engage in thought that may conflict with your imaginary reality.

It’s part of why the NPC meme bothers the left so badly, btw.

Everything I’ve posted here about the entire trump being spied on scandal has been backed up by news reports, sitting members of Congress, and the texts of the conspirators themselves (who may I remind you literally texted each other that they were worried about Baker).

Don’t cry to me because the Obama administration was too sloppy to cover their tracks.

I’m curious how a coffee boy has come into so much inside confidential information.

You didn't really answer me, you just kind of screamed at me here. I prefer the likely explanations, like that the Trump campaign was conspiring with Russia for dirt on Hillary in exchange for dropping sanctions, behind the State Department's back, which literally happened in Trump Tower in the summer of '16. Not that all of Western intelligence conspired against the Trump campaign.
