Tying up loose ends?

A Russian official who reportedly directed foreign operations for Natalia Veselnitskaya died Wednesday in a helicopter crash. According to The Hill, Saak Albertovich Karapetyan crashed outside of Moscow in a forest in the Kostroma area.

Karapetyan, 58, was a Russian deputy attorney general who is believed to have assisted Veselnitskaya, the lawyer who met with senior Trump campaign officials in the Trump tower in 2016. The deputy attorney general was allegedly part of the team behind the effort to overturn the Magnitsky Act, an anti-corruption act passed in the U.S. in 2012. He also worked to derail international investigations in Russia’s purported crimes.

To be fair, it's often tough to find out which particular action or operation gets a Russian national killed by the government. There are so many!!

Lol. Quality post. Quality

Did you forget that President Obama refused to sell lethal weaponry to Ukraine? Trump did it in a heartbeat: $47 million in javelin missile complexes. Trump also signed off on $200 million in non-lethal military aid to Ukraine over Russian objections.

Trump has issued the "Crimea Declaration": Crimea-related sanctions will not be lifted until Crimea is returned to Ukraine.

Under Trump, some 200 Russian mercenaries were killed by US military forces in Syria.

Trump bombed a Syrian airfield over Russian objections. That's the "red line" that Obama refused to cross.

Trump expelled more Russian diplomats from the US than Obama ever did, and Trump even closed the Russian consulate in Seattle.

Trump pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal over Russia's opposition.

The anti-Russia sanctions packages that Trump has signed go deeper and wider than anything Obama ever signed.

Wake up. Trump has been tougher on Russia than any president since Ronald Reagan. This is actually one of the areas I am most critical of Trump on.

You realize you are the only person I’ve seen chasing this rabbit hole.

Hmm, except the reports today in the Hill, and on Fox.

And the other posters literally in this thread, in the last page or two.

<TheDonald>

Now, you can ignore it if you like, but these folks have already lost their jobs, been demoted, had their careers disgraceful etc, and rightfully so.

Not to mention that this was a Russian military helicopter. So the chance of it exploding mid-air just from shitty tech/maintenance is probably 50/50.

Why are you critical of Trump on this issue?

Why are you critical of Trump on this issue?
I think we should be working with the Russians on issues like Iran and Syria. I think we can cooperate on issues like Ukraine rather than taking overtly belligerent actions. I think that the US is hacking Russian databases every day, all day and so sanctioning Russians over their doing the same to us reeks of hypocrisy.

And there I thought @Cint was the only poster in the War Room bought and paid for by Russia.

Your evidence that I'm bought and paid for by Russia is....that I take the same positions on these issues as Glenn Greenwald, Jimmy Dore, and Noam Chomsky. Was President Obama also bought and paid for by the Russians?

Bunch of Russian bots, the whole lot of them. Did you see what they tweeted about the Last Jedi?

Why are you saying 'we' as if you are a real American?

He isn't a news reporter anymore, he is an "opinion contributor", with a long history of shady reporting.

"Until May 2018, he worked on news and investigative pieces for The Hill.[17] In May 2018, the editor-in-chief of The Hill, announced that Solomon would become an "opinion contributor" at The Hill (he would remain executive vice president of digital video).[17] This came in the wake of reports that Solomon's colleagues at The Hill criticized Solomon's news reporting as lacking rigor and context."

Paul McCleary, writing for the Columbia Journalism Review has been critical of John Solomon's reporting.[3] In 2007, he wrote that Solomon had earned a reputation for hyping stories without solid foundation.[3] In 2012, Mariah Blake, writing for the Columbia Journalism Review, wrote that Solomon "has a history of bending the truth to his storyline," and that he "was notorious for massaging facts to conjure phantom scandals."[4] In 2007, Deborah Howell, then-ombudsman at The Washington Post criticized a story that Solomon wrote for The Post which had suggested impropriety by Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards in a real estate purchase; Solomon failed to add context which would have made clear that there was no impropriety.[18] Progressive news outlets ThinkProgress, Media Matters for America and Crooked Media have argued that Solomon's reporting has a conservative bias and that there are multiple instances of inaccuracies.[19][20][21] Reporters who worked under Solomon as an editor have said that he encouraged them to bend the truth to fit a pre-existing narrative.[4]

In that entire post there was exactly 1 example of him not having the right context in a story

The rest are opinions of him. Seems if that’s all you got he is actually a pretty decent reporter/opinion writer

Donald Trump: ‘I Think I’d Do Very Well’ if I Boxed Vladimir Putin

President Donald Trump theorized Thursday that he could compete with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a boxing match.

The president discussed the idea that Democrats and the media demanded that he be more aggressive with Russia and Putin.

“They want me to get into a boxing match with him!” Trump said, appearing exasperated by his critics.

“I think I would do very well,” Trump added prompting cheers from the crowd.

He said that he had a “great meeting” with Putin, adding that if he was tougher, his critics in the media would still complain.

“They would say, ‘He was too tough,'” Trump said, mimicking a news anchor. “These people are loco, I am telling you … fake news.”

He reminded the audience that the media complained that he was originally too aggressive with North Korea and later complained that he was too nice when he met with Kim Jong-Un.
