Man, YOSHIAKI YATSU VS GARY GOODRIDGE 1 and 2 are Huge Mismatches

And Gary Pay All his sins against the K1 legend Mike Bernardo.

Seems like the full fight where he also crushed the guy's nuts with his toes (a unique guard maneuver by Goodridge) was taken off youtube and is now hard to find.

Yatsu showed a ton of heart in that first fight. He was an old pro wrestler who competed as an amateur half a lifetime ago, at that point. No formal standup training of any kind. The Japanese crowd had a lot of respect for Yoshiaki Yatsu.

He was a really good amateur wrestler, Olympic level, but that had been 20+ years prior to fighting Goodridge.

You can just see how broken down his body is. He could barely move. All he had left, was his chin. PRIDE didn't do him any favours by putting him against Goodridge.

Yatsu would be lower end top 10 in today's HW division. Gary would be a the verge of a title shot at all times.

MMA it's a Young Guy Sport hurt see Fighters who are not in their Prime Anymore fighting, But They do because are warriors.

Considering his takedown defense, I think it'd be 50/50 even matchup against Jones.
