Yes. They are trying to bludgeon the justice system into their way of progressive thinking where the onus is on not locking people of color up unless they absolutely have no choice. It’s an absolute last resort and is doing a complete 180 from many decades ago where it was the opposite. I use this example very often, but damn, is it apt to describe progressive DAs and judges-Philly. da larry krasner said he refuses to prosecute felons caught with firearms because the crime is almost exclusively committed by “black and brown” individuals and he doesn’t want to lock any more up for “non-violent crimes.” Fucking dumbass! Who do you think is responsible for most of the shootings and murders in your city?? It is almost exclusively felons and teens doing all the shootings. And in the meantime, he constantly bashes other states’ “lax gun laws and the nra for promoting an environment that makes it easy to obtain guns to be used in Philly.” Last I checked, none of the gang members and shooters are either nra members or coming from out of state to do shootings in Philly-that shit is all homegrown

In one infamous case, a 23 year old man was arrested for violently car jacking an elderly couple using violence and a firearm. He was arrested and put in jail with a bond set. A progressive judge lowered his bond from 10k to an unsecured bond meaning he got out with putting down no money. Days later, he went on to commit another violent robbery and he ended up shooting a 20 year old temple student in the chest, killing him. When the judge eliminated the bail on a very violent repeat offender, krasner’s office had no objections meaning they had no issue with him being released on nothing. Later, after this piece of shit was convicted, fucking larry krasner had the fucking gall to give a celebratory speech praising the work of his prosecutors and detectives (deservedly) for getting this animal locked up. What an absolute
