I've seen a lot Sherdoggers hyping this guy up, and while he showed good wrestling in his last fight against Wilkinson, it seems like to me he's had tailor made competition thus far in the UFC. Granted I don't know much about the guy, but that's the general impression I get.

He will never be top10, but possibly top20. His stand up is way below average compared to top20 FWs (despite that fast KO in his debut), he lacks cardio, and his wrestling is not good enough against the best grapplers of the division.

Honestly if you are fighting anyone in the UFC and making it look easy then you are obviously pretty talented

Who knows if he is ever gonna be top 5 or champ but obviously the guy has some skills, let's see where it goes

Favorable matchups.

Andy Ogle (1-5)
TUF Latin America participant (1-2. Only win was over a 2-1 fighter who's now released.)
Mike Wilkinson. (2-2. Neither win is still in the UFC.)

Nothing about this level of competition is anything to write home about.

He hasn't fought any even near the elite level, so there's no way to gauge how good he really is. There's also nothing offensive about the match ups that he's been given considering the fact that he's still a prospect.

Some guys are going to generate a lot of hype. People need to get over this fact. In MMA, as recent events have shown, a fighter who isn't as good as advertised is going to get exposed sooner rather than later.

If this guy is another Erick Silva-type, pretty boy can crusher, his time is going to come. Just sit back and wait for it.

He's decent but he's not nearly as good as some claim. His 6 second flying knee ko caused a lot of unwarranted hype. It was nice, but kind of flukey.

I think he'll be a gatekeeper at best, but he's definitely a marketable/likeable guy.

Makwan...

- Was the first ever to knock out Andy Ogle, he did this in just eight seconds.
- Finished Fullen in 90 seconds without using any strikes.
- Was the first ever to decision out Mike Wilkinson, Mike only lost by submission previously.
- Makes Gegard Mousasi laugh.

So it's fair to say he's the OG of SBG and the best featherweight coming from Europe and Kurdistan.

i like to think he has a promising future.

he has shown great skill in the cage and he has an exciting style. i dont see how he can have a ceiling.

Two words: Andy Ogle

You make Ogle and Fullen sound like they are top of the food chain type guys..

I'm 100% with you. He's won since he's been in th UFC, but I really question the strength of competition, I think they were basically squash matches for him.

Two words: Andy Ogle
So what, Ogle isn't a great fighter but what else can you do but finish him fast to prove you are better, which he did

There hasn't been enough fights from him in the UFC to know how great he is but just because the guys he is beating aren't champs doesn't mean they are bums who have never trained

He hasn't fought top guys, but I hate the notion that unless you fight a guy tailor made to beat you that you're fighting guys that are tailor made for you to beat.

He's already very good and has lots of potential but his last fight showed he still has room to improve.

You make Ogle and Fullen sound like they are top of the food chain type guys..
That's mostly how it works when you come to the UFC, his competition will get better and then we'll see.

If he wants to make it he should join an American gym not SBG.

I get your argument but cmon man

I want to see him matched up with an American wrestler and guage where his wrestling is really at, not against mainly European guys, who you know their ground game is suspect.

Nah. He is another PVZ at this point. He gets attention for other reasons than his fighting skills. So far he has beat no one relevant.

He's the real deal Holyfield. Lol atleast i want him to be. His competition has not been good enough to gauge where he really is, so we won't know till he fights better competition. I like what I've seen so far.
