15-20 hours is about par for the course for this franchise, isn't it? I don't remember these games being particularly long, as their open worlds are kind of empty, and it's more of story focused game that happens to have some light sandbox elements. What the fuck? $50?? We finally have a goodguy video game studio on our hands! I'll definitely buy this.
Unless it's not what it seems and it's a 15 hour game.
I've never played a Mafia game before.15-20 hours is about par for the course for this franchise, isn't it? I don't remember these games being particularly long, as their open worlds are kind of empty, and it's more of story focused game that happens to have some light sandbox elements.
Oh'. Well then, they're "open world", but they're fairly linear(never played M3 though. Maybe it's different). The sandbox is more set dressing, than anything. It's more of a means to "realistically" get from point A to point B. It's more "LA Noir" in it's open world approach, than a true open world GTA like experience, where the distractions become the game, and you can spend 100's of hours just fucking around.I've never played a Mafia game before.
Sounds like it might be kind of like Uncharted. Where there's a map and you can walk around but it's not really open world like GTA. It basically points you exactly where to go and you can't deviate much.Oh'. Well then, they're "open world", but they're fairly linear(never played M3 though. Maybe it's different). I'd actually prefer it if they just ditched the open world altogether and made the linear experience tighter, because the stories are really good and don't lend themselves to open world gameplay. That said, maybe they'll knock the open world shit out of the park this time. There's plenty of opportunity to do so in such a setting.
Expedition 33 launched at 50 dollars. Wuchang Fallen Feathers is also releasing at 50 dollars. There's actually more out there than you think. 50 is the new 40 just like 70 is the new 60. Last gen there were a number of AA titles that released at 39.99. With the number of indies and AA games out there people really don't need to pay more than 60 and can still have plenty to play. What the fuck? $50?? Mafia 2 is legit one of my favorite games of all time and still holds up 15 years later. I can't believe it's that old. Highly recommend playing it. Mafia 3 sucks though.I've never played a Mafia game before.

I heard you can’t swim though. 0/10Hearing nothing but good things about this game. The Platinum trophy is also a real nutcracker, apparently.
Ah, sorry to hear that. I was thinking it played like Uncharted: fun, linear.Bought the game and spent a few hours on it.
Holy shit what an awful game. Lots of stupid dialogue, predictable plot. And gameplay where you can hardly do anything but ride a horse. Gunplay is stupid.
I can't remember what it's like playing Mafia 2, must have been 10 or more years ago now. I'll give this a couple of more hours but I'll probably quit. This antiquated play style is a stinker.
