...and hypergamy strikes again!

For those not up to speed, after Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and his ex-wife Mackenzie Scott (formerly Mrs. Bezos) got a divorce (amidst Jeff's affair), she married Dan Jewett, a science teacher at the school that her children attend. Mackenzie Scott has now filed for divorce against Jewett - who did not contest the divorce.

From the article:
"In the past week his name vanished from her philanthropic endeavors. On the site for the Giving Pledge, where billionaires promise to give away half of their wealth before they die, his letter no longer appeared with hers." (Damn)

“It is strange to be writing a letter indicating I plan to give away the majority of my wealth during my lifetime, as I have never sought to gather the kind of wealth required to feel like saying such a thing would have particular meaning. I have been a teacher for the majority of my life, as well as a grateful student of the generosity of those around me. This has meant doing my best to follow their example by passing on resources of all kinds—from time, to energy, to material possessions—when I have had them to give. And now, in a stroke of happy coincidence, I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know—and joining her in a commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others.”

This was a bit of an odd pairing, for Mackenzie - whose net worth is over 33 billion USD - to be married to a science teacher, who is not much of a looker either.

In any case, the reason I brought up hypergamy is because I suspect Mackenzie will always be chasing the white whale. It must be impossible to go from married to the richest man in the world to trying to find another dude. The standards are now impossible and no guy will ever be able to fulfill them. Her "rebound" marriage lasting as short as it did should come as no surprise.

Not to mention women tend not to do very well with men they out-earn - it's a big psychological thing. Her love life is likely going to struggle indefinitely if I had to bet on it.

I wouldn't make assumptions because at the end of the day we don't know their personalities. It's possible the guy love-bombed her because he wanted a shot at her assets, and she accepted his proposal without thinking about the ramifications. They married really fast, that's pretty suspicious. In her position you'd be better off not marrying anyone again, or doing so only after a long period of time when you're sure it's the right one.

How much does the science teacher get?

She can still date anyone with net worth over 100 million without feeling like they’re after her money.

They probably signed a pre nup so he won’t be rich like Sherbros.

Prenups can get tossed in court, one possible reason is if the agreement is too lopsided. In her case if she has a prenup it would probably stand since it was such a short marriage, but I'm guessing he's still going to get something. Even if he gets a tiny percentage of her wealth, that would still be a really good deal for him. A successful scam if that's what it was.

I mean if it's the science teacher where she was sending her kids to school, I have to imagine dude is like Walter White level of science teacher. I have to imagine a teacher at that level of schooling would have to have pretty damned good credentials.

Still the wealth gap has got to be hard to overcome in that type of relationship

She seems very generous. She already donate 3.8 billion of her fortune. That's more than any famous billionaire, and she is very pretty haha. Bezos made mistake cheating on her imo. She is way more beautiful than his current gf.
His current gf used to be hot before all the surgeries. She was an LA newscaster. She know how to play the game, she has her own business and used to be married to an NFL player.

She’s Cersei in real life.
