I have missed those Mackenzies fights or I have seen them differently. I haven't seen fight in her yet, so I am still waiting. I used to be excited when she started her career, but I have felt she's already kind of fading away. I am afraid she's late, but we'll see and good for her fans who still can support her.

I don't know how could you think she's fading, she improved a lot and she already proved to be gritty, even breaking her nose didn't really phase her in her last fight, she's not afraid of a brawl as well.
But she'll be exposed soon, her wrestling and takedowns are so bad it makes you wonder why is she even bothering with striking before fixing that, her last fight even gave her more confidence in her striking.
If she doesn't realize that problem she'll never become the champ, if she loses to striking she'll probably think "if only my striking was better.." and not realize she could've won by bringing the fight to the ground.

What stats are you implying back up your theory? I'm judging it from their fights. I'm not saying trust me I know these tings. I'm explaining the reasoning behind why I feel Dern hits harder. Any power puncher can easily tell the difference. We know what to look for. Others will have a hard time gauging strength but for others it's very easy. Ronda isn't really known for her boxing or her mma striking. So I don't understand the argument that she's some elite power puncher. Dern has proven her power punching in her fights. She's dropped multiple opponents that she's fought and every time she connects clean you can see it in their faces that it was a hard hit. They immediately back peddle, cover up, or get dropped. Those are the stats I'm basing my argument on. If you want you can probably look at their significant strikes stats from all their fights and see who has more.

I'll have to re-watch her fights, I figured she had more knockdowns than that. She usually wins the striking exchanges and is the harder puncher vs whoever she is fighting. Yes it's very easy to tell punching power. Once again I said compare the level of competition that Ronda was knocking out vs who Dern has been fighting recently. Once again we are talking about punching power, not a knee or gnp. Dern has been fighting higher quality opponents than when Ronda was fighting. Sure Ronda fought some high level fighters but most wouldn't be comparable to the fighters currently fighting in the division now. The level of skill has increased drastically compared to that time. Fighters weren't really well rounded back then and most weren't full time fighters. Where is Bethe currently ranked right now? Do you favor Bethe over Dern or anyone that Dern has fought recently? Holly Holm can be used as an example as well to to gauge the quality of her opponents compared to her fight with Ronda.

Ronda did well in the beginning stages of wmma because she was a specialist and most fighters weren't well rounded or had a grappling game that could match or be used to neutralize her judo. WMMA has improved tremendously during that time and most fighters are well rounded and have a full game now. The dominance that Ronda was able to display in the early stages would be hard and almost impossible to replicate in it's current stages without expanding her overall skillset. She needs more than just upper body control clinch throws/takedowns. That was evident in her fight vs Holm and Nunes. Also her striking was levels below theirs when they fought. WMMA evolved, you can't really use past fights and compare it to current fighters.

So, it was pretty disgusting what people were saying about Ronda at her peak. Like people like Joe Rogan, you know, but I guess they sure changed their tune fast. I mean I'm sure people who will reply to this thread are one of those people too, you know. Talking about how great she was back then, but now she was never good.

Ronda never tapped a fighter above a purple belt in BJJ in MMA. Ashley Yoder whom Dern went to a decision against has higher BJJ than everyone Ronda fought aside from
Nunez who pushed her shit in. By the way, Tate and Zingano a purple belt, so was Carmouche when she fought Ronda.

I think people forget Rogan is just a comedian who got his black belt, just like Ashton Kutcher who will eventually get his black belt too and put too much weight on what he says sometimes.

I think Dern is a way better fighter than Ronda, so is Ribas. Not to mention, these girls are much better looking than Ronda will ever be, if that matters. I just don't get it, there are these great fighters who are better at actual fighting and has better grappling than Ronda but doesn't get half as much hype as Ronda used to.

I said recent fights. And the conversation is about who she beat with her striking, not every single person Ronda fought. Yes there were high level people Ronda fought, but most weren't. The fight people are using as an example is Bethe, so that is the fighter I am using as an example. Because clearly she isn't in the top level in rankings.

Yes the overall competition now is better than when Ronda was competing. That's evident in her back to back losses and her retiring from mma. They were high level during that time, but not really comparable to the skill level in WMMA's current form. Just judge Ronda's last fights to compare it to current WMMA. The skillset and competition is better now.

I still feel Ronda can come back, I feel like she is skilled enough but just needs to expand her game. Cross training with other fighters/trainers would help her evolve her game. I think she learned everything she could with her current gym/coach and needs new ways of thinking/strategy/techniques/etc. If the skill she was able to attain with her Judo and be able to attain that same skillset with her striking/wrestling/etc she can be at the top of the game again.

But I don't think she mentally can handle competing again after her losses. The losses seemed to negatively affect her, so I doubt it'll happen. But if she does, she definitely needs to cross train and listen to everyone that said she needs to find new training/coaches to help her game evolve - or else it'll just be the same outcome all over again.
