Ground and pound stoppages aren't the same as KO/TKO from standing. She has one from Bethe which was a nice KO. But we are talking about actual punching power and she hasn't been able to replicate that with any other opponent. Dern has even without a KO she's gotten knockdowns. You are saying Bethe is higher caliber opponent than the people Dern has been fighting?

She rocked Alexis Davis standing before finishing her. She finished McMann with knees. Dern hasn't got a single stoppage by strikes against generally lesser opponents. Those are simple facts.

We are talking about punching power and not knees. Your legs are naturally going to be stronger than your arms, that's why Jones has KO from head kicks but none from his punches. Same with Pettis before the Wonderboy KO, but that was due to spring boarding from the cage from Wonderboy's kick so that gave more power to his super man punch. Once again do you rate those fighters as higher level competition than who Dern has fought recently skill wise?

I think people forget Rogan is just a comedian who got his black belt, just like Ashton Kutcher who will eventually get his black belt too and put too much weight on what he says sometimes.

I think Dern is a way better fighter than Ronda, so is Ribas. Not to mention, these girls are much better looking than Ronda will ever be, if that matters. I just don't get it, there are these great fighters who are better at actual fighting and has better grappling than Ronda but doesn't get half as much hype as Ronda used to.

Has against Sara McMann too, but I got your point. The problem is that the media UFC/Rogan/her boxing coach/Mom made us believe back then that she is outstanding stand up fighter, with that magical one punch ko power, and we really bought that. We were hyping Honda out of our gillies. We haven't been able to get tricked by Mackenzies one punch ko power so she's not that great yet.

Askren was clearly out of prime and his physique couldn't make it more obvious. Ronda has 100% finish rate and she beat some tough fighters, the fighter she lost against were pretty good, Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes.
I believe she was ruined by her coach who told her that her striking was really good, imagine if she focused on grappling,

Imagine if she had put ego aside and had switched to say, Kings MMA down the freeway from her to learn some competent striking.<{cruzshake}>

That was big part of her marketibilty and fame. She was suppose to be striker. Of course we sherbros knew she was grappler. But mainstream believed she was koeing people left and right. They are not interested about grapplin, even if there are women doing it. Her coach was big part of that scam they tried to feed us.

Well she was so arrogant and hyped too. Didn't shake Miesha's hand etc. She played the heel role and now she is treated that way. I think her career was one of the biggest roller coasters from biggest star to then one who ruined the sport and made us all look bad. Like seriously people paid to watch Ronda koeing Bethe. That was main bout.

Ronda could've been better at striking, it seemed like she needed more pure striking sparring to get comfortable and to be able to transfer her pad work into live fighting. A bit of disconnect in her technique practiced, and technique applied in fights. She's more than capable, her Judo skills are elite level so she should be able to apply that focus, discipline, training, application into striking. A lot of people blame her coach, I think Ronda would've benefited a lot by cross training with different fighters/trainers.

Dern doesn't have one punch KO power yet, but she may develop it in the future when her timing and shot selection gets better. She is heavy handed and has dropped fighters off one punch. Multiple punch combinations would probably get her TKO/KO if she can land 2 or 3 clean shots together, or at least stun them so she can time her overhand right for the KO.

I think they purpoesly built Ronda like that. There was no sense in her training except the public image. The whole career was all about public image. I guess that worked out well for her considering his incomes.

I have missed those Mackenzies fights or I have seen them differently. I haven't seen fight in her yet, so I am still waiting. I used to be excited when she started her career, but I have felt she's already kind of fading away. I am afraid she's late, but we'll see and good for her fans who still can support her.
