Well, the UFC should have known better. Before her signing with the UFC she literally made the strawweight limit twice. In her mma debut and in her Invicta debut...and keep in mind her fight before invicta was at flyweight. Also, why does she keep forcing her self to go down so much in weight when obviously, she can't?

Except the topic that you and @fractal don't seem to understand is, we're not discussing what's attractive. The topic is: what's thickness?

Williams, in that photo, is in shape but genetically has thickness. Whether it's attractive to you or anyone else is irrelevant. Dern isn't thick, she's fat.
youre totally right. i sherdogged. <bows out of thread

Probably to use her weight to get the fight to the ground. At 125 her wrestling would be even weaker. And since the 125 division is new, not being a 115er meant having to go to 135 and fight girls like Nunes who'd KO her within 30 seconds.

if i were her id go to 125 precisely bebecau it's a new weight class. Easier climb to the top, easier wat for Ufc to market it's new weight class and nee star.

Did she already gave an official statement somewhere?
She said " Bananas are a good source of potassium" took a cute, promising bite, and winked. All was forgiven.

Okay? I dont know where you are going with this but..
You claimed bjj fighters are always in horrible shape, I disproved that by showing pictures of BJJ players in good shape.

Dude your arguing semantics and missing the whole point. Of course there will be exceptions in generalisations. My point was that Dern is coming from BJJ where she succeeded with higher bodyfat than usual (compared to a boxer or wrestler) which has translated to MMA where she is coming in with a similar focus (or lack there of) on getting lean.

While I agree with the sentiment such a system would set-up bad incentives, given that the last pounds are the hardest to cut and would be the least costly. We'd see a shitton of fighters chosing not to cut the very last pounds and instead take a miniscule pay cut. And that would then fuck up the entire system of weight limits. So... no, not a good idea.

It doesn't have to be strictly linear or start 0 percent.

You can start the percentage at 20 percent (or whatever) for example, and work your way up.
