I remember Big John talking about it in a video, he says if a fighter deliberately has one hand on the mat you can strike him in the head. Also said if Belfort hit that head kick he threw when jones crawled out he would've deemed it legal.

Reminds me of Pettis vs Cerrone, when Pettis threw that cartwheel kick that missed and Cerrone threw the knee. Would have to be a similar counter from Gegard.
