MacDonald vs Thompson predictions

After seeing the abuse that Rory was able to take against lawler, I'm saying Rory by tko.
 
Rory and Wonderboy are my two favorite WW's, so I hate this fight, especially since it shouldn't even be happening. That said, if Wonderboy's TDD is as good as it looked against Hendricks I think he'll get the finish. I've seen people say they think Rory is a nightmare match-up for Wonderboy, but I'm more inclined to think it's the other way around. Rory's a great striker, but I think Wonderboy is the one guy that has him beat there. Rory's a stud though and has a lot riding on this fight, so nothing would surprise me.
 
Rory brought in Venom Page for remainder of camp, hope he has enough time to stuff/jam that style of attack

Wonderboy I think will eventually find his mark TKO
 
Rory wins via being new dad. But seriously, it will be a decision battle like most of Rory's fights. Impossible to say who wins both are tall and lanky.

Also, I can't stress how important this is, Hendricks was training himself for that fight. He left his team before the fight, when he didn't get his TD he looked like he had no gameplan and no idea how to adjust. Rory trains at one of the best camps in the world. You can be sure they will have a hell of a gameplan for WB.
In addition to his reach advantage Rory also has good kicks. This is going to be a very tactical fight.

I got Rory on this one, due to him being the more rounded fighter. But it's razor thin. Prob the fight i'm most looking forward to in the coming months. Cant wait for it.
Hope wonderboy wins to add a new title contender (other than woodley), and at the same time i hope Rory wins so the UFC doesn't fuck him on his next contract.

You make good points but Rory is not as good of a wrestler as Hendricks see WB stuff him and do it so easily lets me know Rory is not getting the TD's here. Rory is great striker but trying to strike with WB is just stupid at this point. Rory needs to the TD's if he though Lawler messed him up wait until someone like WB puts his hands and feet on him.
 
I'm a huge fan of both fighters and I can't decide who I think will win, but I do hope Rory does win so he has more leverage in his contract negotiations. I want him to stay in the UFC
 
Rory has absolutely no chance in the stand up and his takedowns aren't great either.

Rough tough night for Rory I'm afraid.
 
Wonderboy is like Machida but with a chin. i see him becoming champion

You're right about Rory's wrestling not as good as Hendricks by itself, but he's 100% a more complete fighter than Hendricks, and I think you're underestimating the fact that rory fights long with kicks as well, and has not only the same reach as WB but slightly longer reach. Be interesting for sure. We shall see.
 
Very hard fight to predict, I am leaning slightly too Rory because he can mix it up more with the grappling. but wouldn't be surprised if Thompson won

I think you underestimating Hendricks here a bit. Lets remember that he has done better against Lawler then Rory ever did and he did it standing and with TD's something Rory was unable to do. In fact you could argue that Hendricks has won every single Lawler fight while Rory has lost them both and was finished the last time. Hendricks striking is much better then it use to be and while Rory clearly has a better jab I think the rest is about the same.
 
Wonderboy schools him on the feet and subs him on the ground.
 
I'm picking Wonderboy in this matchup. Rory has pretty good utilization of boxing and is very well rounded, but I think Thompson's use of distance and diversity in striking will cause him problems and lead to a TKO within a couple rounds. Great fight that I'm looking forward to seeing and it's not as though Rory cannot pull out a win, just not the way I see it going. I hope if he does lose it doesn't place him in a poor position to negotiate, because I like him a lot.
 
I prefer Thompson but Macdonald is proven to be a fucking warrior and fight until potential death so i got to go with Rory
 
I got Rory. I actually think Rory will outstrike him, and mix in takedowns. He may stop him in the 3rd.
