Oh & Paddy called out Ilia & so far he’s declined so you can add ‘Ilia is afraid of Paddy’ to the list no?

How can charles take a fight that wasn't offered to him? or do you mean he should trash talk illia more and build a fight with him? Despite what chael sonnen continues to say, there's been no illia fight offer made to charles. It is true that charles doesn't think about or acknowledge illia as much as some fans want him to, though.

Eh..LW is a shark tank and one of the deepest divisions. It's not like these guys at the top can lose a fight and get back into contention within a win or 2 like the heavier divisions so of course they're a lot more risk adverse.
 
Obviously not. I doubt there's anybody under 185 that Islam doesn't think he would beat, but I'm sure he wants a fight that would silence the haters, and everyone already knows that if he beat Ilia, he would get 0 credit and they would just say "big deal he beat up another FW", so he probably doesn't see any gain unless Topuria at least establishes himself as a LW by beatingba contender and getting himself ranked.

The other guys can all beat each other, and they all think they're next and don't want to risk losing and not getting a title shot. Topuria/Arman is the best fight to make. Either Arman wins and makes up for having to fake a back injury because he couldn't make weight, or Topuria proves he can beat a big wrestler and gets himself in the top 5.

When you look at who Charles has fought the last like 10 fights, I think he's earned enough to call his shot. The guy took a lot of damage over the years fighting killers.

He can "call his shot" as long as he doesnt think he gets to demand a title shot. When you lose in embarrassing fashion against Islam, you really need to do a lot to make a rematch viable. Losing to Tsarukyan and then beating a washed Chandler doesn't earn you a title shot.

Facing Ilia in a number 1 contender fight would earn him a rematch, but he doesn't want that. Arman has also publically called for a Charles rematch and charles was quiet as can be when that happened because he wouldn't want to be beaten again by the same guy.

Is he seriously demanding a title shot though?

Who has he been considering fighting? Do-Bronx does have other options I reckon, so I think it's not a big deal that he doesn't want to fight Topuria. He'd be smart not too, but I always have problems calling guys ducks when they fought killers most of their careers.
