Stylistically, It's Islams' toughest match up since Arman. The short notice for green takes a ton of my interest away from the fight though.

I agree Bobby isn't an easy opponent but I doubt the notice makes much difference, as Luke says in the video

How is it tough stylistic match up? Arman had the wrestling to counter Islam but Green is nowhere near as good a grappler as either Arman or Dariush nor will he have enough time to train for Islam. Hooker at least had 30 days.

I do agree this fight is less interesting now. I'd rather they just rebooked Dariush vs Islam for a later date or at least book Islam against a ranked opponent like Chandler or Gillespie. It's also waste of time for Green who's got some momentum. He would have been the perfect opponent for Tony

i'm guessing the ufc would rather have islam as champ than dariush in terms of marketability. you are basically going to be bringing back the entire khabib fanbase. would beniel vs oliveira really sell?

with dariush injured islam gets a free pass to the title. someone else might be able to knock him off his win streak down the line.

I said "since arman," acknowledging that Arman was was a tough fight stylistically. Islam never fought Dariush, so I wasn't comparing Green to him. I'm comparing green to Hooker, moises, Dober, etc etc. Greens defensive grappling is top knotch and we've seen him deal with very high level wrestlers/grapplers before, which is something we can't really say about the other guys I just mentioned. Even when bobby loses, the fight is typically a contentious decision. I expect him to lose, but he's going to make islam work hard for everything. I expect green to gas after two, though.
