How is this fight bad?

There are no clear contenders in either weight class and this allows for atleast a HW contender to emerge in the meantime.

THe same goes for Nunes vs Cyborg and DJ/TJ. None of them have divisional opponents people are clamoring to see.

Remember when LW champ BJ vs WW champ GSP ruined everything? oh wait!
 
It's a silly complaint. There's no contenders at HW or LHW, so you may as well have them face off until there are (Gustaffson is injured). Cormier is retiring soon anyway.
 
This is perfect for DC to avenge the Bones loss ...go win the HW !!

Anyone who doesn't want that fight should look for a different sport. Best HW title fight you can currently make & LHW needs time to find contenders anyway. Plus DC will retire soon, so he won't hold up any divisions in case he wins.
 
That sounds heroic, but lets apply some context and reality, who is being held up? Both divisions are stale with no clear contenders. Should these fights never happen? Because it seems like a great time.

This fight is actually one of my favourite "Superfights" to date.
Both guys are great in the cage, but bland as fuck in the personality department.
I doubt there's going to be much bullshitting or pointless trash talk.

This dicksuck was laughing about how he didn't watch TUF and had such little interest in the title fight between Montano and Eubanks (pre-weight cut). Same goes for Helwani. That's why I laugh when they go on these sanctimonious rants about what the world title means to them.


Well, I am a huge MMA fan too (I even watch TUF). I like to keep the divisions structured and the titles meaningful. And still, there's nothing I'd like to see more than Stipe vs. DC in a Hogan/Warrior superfight for the HW title.

Don't think it's that bad. Both divisions are shallow at the moment and D.C. has proven himself at HW.
 
HW/LHW are the divisions where they should be doing superfights
 
The only postive thing I can say about Luke Thomas is he's got strong hair genetics.

Obviously don't do it in talent-rich divisions, but HW/LHW are extremely depleted at the moment and might literally have zero legit contenders at the moment.

If there was ever a time to do it at HW, it's now.

You don't need to do it 135-185 because those divisions generally replenish legit contenders on a regular basis.
 
I don't mind this fight. DC is going to be one chubby fellow at HW though.
