In particular, he comes to two interesting conclusions:
(1) McGregor was a repetitive and predictable striker and didn't have much for Diaz beyond the left hand.
(2) His BJJ is far more sophisticated and technical than people give him credit for, based on some techniques he employed in the first round.

McGregor vs. Aldo? Looks like someone should get a tattoo as well.

too long of a break down, Luke is too big of a nerd for me to watch...

Conor had a lot for Nate. 3 or 4 different strikes were landing on a regular basis in r1

CM thought he'd walk thru him though, and didn't put in much work on Nate's front leg.

From my pov I saw a major lapse in judgement as far as his gameplan goes, and a large disparity in their durability

If Conor and Nate were punching a car like in the bonus rounds of SF2, Conor's side would be wrecked... don't matter though if you do 2x the damage when your opponent is 3x as durable.

I'm stoked now, it'll be way easier to root for Conor now that all this god & goat talk is a little muted

I actully watch everything luke..... and that says alot since I'm the type who likes factuality over assumptions

Do people really listen to Luke Thomas babble on for an hour?

Lukes good most of the time, but he states too much of his opinions as FACT. If someone did a similar thing to Luke as the Rogan watch YouTube channel there would be endless contradictions

Luke Thomas just likes to hear himself talk.

For fans looking for good analysis I strongly recommend staying away from clowns like Luke Thomas and Jack Slack... heck you're better off with Copy Pasta KenFlo or Fighter and the Kid podcasts.

He clearly has a lot of technical knowledge. Whether or not that technical knowledge is being correctly applied to make sound judgements is another matter. But I'm not an expert, so I must have some faith that people who pass themselves off as experts aren't entirely clueless. After that, it takes personal judgement to decide which of many viewpoints strikes me as most plausible.

I watched a bit of this, guy breaks down every frame of the fight. Yawn. That fight could easily have been broken down in 10 minutes instead of... Frame 265 we can see a foot on his crotch and a hand on the mat which is very very high level bjj blah, blah, blah, yeah get on with it... not everything that happened was intentional but he tries to spin it like Conor had Nate right where he wanted him during that scramble.

Luke Thomas doesn't know shit about X Guard. That's not X Guard or even a variant. That was a hail mary to avoid being murdered and Nate rolled with it, because he was comfortable pulling guard. Notice when they get to a 50/50 position, Nate grabs Conor and pulls him into his guard. Go on and rewatch it... notice the sub attempt. Notice the cage grab to save his life... Conor ain't got shit on the ground.
