Luke at his best was one of the greatest grapplers MMA's ever seen, period. I'd heavily favour him over Poatan if they fought prime for prime. But yeah, that was a fight that never materialized cuz Poatan was too busy making pocket change KO'ing Dustin Jacoby-level kickboxers while Luke was storming toward the championship.

Would've been an interesting one, for sure.

Pereira probably doesn't have a great ground game, but it doesn't matter if he is controlling distance and getting KO's relatively easy when standing. When was the last time he was taken down and kept down long enough to suffer significant damage? Plus even if Pereira were to lose a round or two due to an opponent having success with wrestling / grappling, they still have to make it through 25 minutes in a title fight without getting KO/TKO by a guy who can finish a fight with a single strike.
