so does it mean that he qualifies for the Fedorationale of he is "out of his prime"?

He struggled with Weidman (or maybe was it a staph infection?), smashed by Bisping (who had never KO'd any top fighter), rocked by Branch (who would have finished, if he was a better fighter) and then smashed by Yoel Romero (who molested him afterwards).

The guy is 33 years old with already 10 years of damage. Would you say he is a perfect candidate for the Fedorationale of "out of his prime" to excuse his recent slump? LOL

He just never improved his defense.

Yes prime luke rockhold would be 50-0 against cans in japan. fighters like fedor have an emotional, meta-spiritual link to Japan and its energy, Fedor was a killer in his last fight in Japan but instantly became past prime as soon as he fought in USA very strange really.

Generally speaking I think the 9 year rule applies in most cases; Rockhold's 9th year was when he got knocked out by Bisping.

Lucky Lukesalt was never that good.

This is what a reasonable observer would say. However, some people will Fedorationalize his losses by saying "he was out of his prime. He already had 10 years of damage and blah blah."

It is good to have these conversations today, so the fans of the future can have an idea what people were thinking in real time. For example, Fedor fans claim that he was out of his prime as early as 2007, but you will be hard pressed to find any sources to support this hindsight re-assessment. LOL

he started his fighting career getting KOed, so no.

Rockhold has always been chiny

Luke has been fighting at the top level for 4 years. Fedor fought and trained at the highest level for twice as long. Thanks for playing, try again next time

28 fights winning streak, one loss at the start of his career due to a cut stoppage. This thread is pure click bait, there is nothing to compare between Rockhold and Fedor.

Yeah he struggled so much with Weidman that he mounted him and punched his face in for like 5 minutes straight.

On a serious note, I think it's more a case of never developing solid, consistant defense and facing very tough opposition.

Fedor was obviously past his prime when he defeated the only 2 non-tin based opponents in Tim Silvia and Arlovski.

Define "struggled with Weidman"

Not many fighters that can fight in mma after 10 years at the top. Its a rough sport takes its toll on the body. Sure there are a few examples that were able too but that is the exception not the rule. I'm only in my mid 30s and 10 years in the army messed my knees up i pretty much can only swim and bike for exercise now. I have no idea how some of these guys compete after all the injuries.
