Headliner
Luis Ortiz (24-0, 21KOs) vs Tony Thompson (40-6, 27KOs)
Co feature
Sadam Ali (22-0, 13KOs) vs Jessie Vargas (26-1, 9KOs)

Ortiz presumably should end this quick.
I threw $100 on this ending under 6.5 rds, so ill go with a 4th rd KO for Ortiz.

Thompson looked done against Scott, Ortiz runs him over.

No Hail Mary punch for Vargas this time, Ali isn't a stupid fighter.
Shutout win for Ali.

Read they wont even sanction this fight for a title. You know its a bad match up when the money grubbing org dont want their name anywhere near it.

Ortiz by 2nd KO.

Yeah Thompson hasn't looked good in awhile. Still not a horrible opponent considering he was a replacement for someone who dropped out. He has size and he went up against the best guys in the division before.

I would have like the fight 2-3yrs ago but TT has really looked bad over the last 2yr and then you add in that he is coming in on short notice and then Ortiz being on a tear right now and hitting his stride and this fight isnt something to really get me exicted.

the Ali vs Vargas fight should good though and curious to see how that plays out. I like Jesse but I think Ali takes the Dec while Jesse looks for the KO shot all night.

I agree it's not a good match at all but hopefully a nice KO makes people more excited to see Ortiz in with someone relevant. From what I've read he is looking for big fights but no one is biting. He is kind of scary.

yeah he is a threat and the were looking at matching him up against Chagaev in June(and that is another reason the WBA didn't want the belt onthe line tonight) but that plan doesn't look like its gonna work now.

10 mins.. This two weeks on a row showtime and HBO have run competing cards.. I wish they would quit that crap.

Ortiz wins easy. Thompson shouldn't even be on this show.

Vargas vs Ali will be pretty good.Better fight than the main event.

No showtime spoilers please. I'll cut someone.

Did you do your duty and vote today bubba?

I thought based on the WBA unification tourney that Ortiz, Oquendo, Browne and the Wlad/Fury winner will all face off in single elimination until there is only one WBA champion...

In any case I'll be watching this instead of that dreadful UFC undercard till the main events.

This fight should tell us a lot about Ali. He's taken way too long to step up.

that was the plan but now there is already talk of Browne facing Queso? so I dont think the tourny is gonna work out.

Is Ali a big favorite here?

I see Vargas is still butthurt over getting beat by Bradley.
