1. won the title by beating an 11th ranked real estate guy

2. unified the title and was made famous, and very wealthy, for beating a delusional liquor salesman.

allah lined them stars up for old khabib.

not taking anything away from his skills and talent, one of the best to do it for sure.

he walked into a pretty good thing having never beaten a unified champion.

I don't feel like WMMA has progressed a whole lot apart from the top names. Most of Ronda's wins have beat other decent girls or even girls who are top10 today.

* Budd - her only losses are to Nunes, Ronda and Cyborg. Sure, not many big wins but she did beat GDR

* McMann - still ranked top 10
* Carmouche - has wins over more than the current flyweight top five: #2 Chookagian , #3 Murphy and #4 Maia

The Aldo win you could say was lucky, iron chinned elite striker gets flash KO'd. Went for the double-champ against maybe the weakest LW champ ever. Jones is lucky to get as many second chances as he did.

Nah Forrest wasn’t lucky, he was just huge for the weight class and a stud athlete. He wasn’t really dominant at any specific skillset, just athletic and had a huge heart until near the end of his career.

The Lindland, Machida, Ninja, Bustamante, and Satoshi Ishii bouts were all split decisions. SD that all went Rampage's way.

Jackson also "beat" King Mo by unanimous decision, despite everyone else scoring the fight against him

Gets another shot at the LHW belt from a win over Matt Hamill (who is a great wrestler, but come on) - before the Hamill fight Jackson was arguably 0-2, having the Machida and Rashad fights in succession.

In WMMA it's Germaine Dr Randamie. Won a 'world title' in a non existent division by blatantly cheating. She also has two fluke-ish wins over Aspen Ladd and Julianna Pena who are pretty legit fighters and better than her.

I think the one and only Bethe Correia can be considered very lucky too. Very very VERY marginally talented with no strong points as a fighter whatsoever (although some say that she's durable at least) and yet has a few wins in the UFC because her first three opponents were the unholy trinity of WMMA's punching bags (Julie Kedzie, Jessamyn Duke, and Shayna Baszler) and she got a title shot because of that. She also managed to beat Jessica Eye when she was getting beat by everyone at batamweight. Other than that she has a win and a draw against Eubanks and Reneau respectively....who are just as marginally talented as she is. So a few UFC wins + title shot + a recognizable name...not bad for someone with an inch of talent...I'm sure she feels good about herself.

Not a fighter but I'm reminded by his recent media barrage that Big John McCarthy is the luckiest guy in all of MMA. Has a name and a living from being in the right place at the right time and never actually risked anything.
