Nate Diaz. Rakes in millions and is a household name due to RDA’s injury .
Only those given multiple unjust decisions. Everything else was the winners intent, luck wasn't a part of the equationWe often talk about bad luck in the fighting game, but who is the luckiest fighter in the UFC?
Lucky punch wins, awarded robbery decisions, opponents make mistakes...
Who is highest in the rankings due to luck?
oh 100%..... as I have said before about Mike Perry if you told me he never smoked crack id call you a liarMike Perry. I truly believe he couldn't hold a real job down for an extended amount of time.
Fighting for money kept him out of prison.
He's lucky there was this avenue to living available to him.
Matt Serra - legacy built on GSP win
Wrong. RDA beat up Alvarez 9 times out of 10 ....
Except that was a good win -- on that night Serra was the better fighter. That happens in just about every sport -- sometimes even the best team has a bad day and the other team has a good day (like the 10-6 New York Giants beating the 16-0 New England Patriots in the 2008 Superbowl), or like happens regularly in the NBA, MLB and NHL when the league leaders lose a game to the last place team.
The unexpected happens -- its the reason we actually play the game or have the fight, instead of just working out who should win on paper and going with that.
GSP is one of the GOAT's who had a bad day, Serra is a decent mid-level UFC fighter who had the best day of his fighting life. But Serra was better on that night.

Not sure if having to fight Romero, Jacare, Kelvin, Rockhold and Mousasi in a row is considered lucky.
Alvarez, 2-1 in the UFC, 2 wins by split decision, get a title shot in the stackest division in the sport, without facing the 2 big contenders being tony and khabib.
Face RDA who had a terrible weight cut and get the lucky punch win. RDA beat up Alvarez 9 times out of 10 ....
yep, u were among the dumb ones who really thought that serra was better than GSP, ur so naive.Only mma fans are this retarded. Where someone is knocked out clean and it’s considered a lucky win. They can’t believe their eyes with their fighter’s nuts covering their eyes.
Alvarez also beat Justin who went on to beat top contenders. And no, I’m not an Alvarez fan but unlike some mma retards I tend to believe my eyes. If you beat the man, then you’re better.
A lucky champion is Franklin who won in a weak era. Or Griffin whose win was purely one off.

If you use that logic any victory would be disqualified from this thread with the possible exception of freak injures. I had the same thought initially, but decided not to limit my response to out of octagon luck.
Serra got his shot at GSP by winning TUF. He was not ranked the time and didn’t beat a ranked fighter to earn his title shot. During the fight he caught an arrogant GSP asleep at the twitch.
I consider it luck because Serra was clearly not the cream of the crop, but due to a unique situation became champion and cemented his legacy.
