Holy shit!

Also, what’s the significance of the champagne during sex?
"significance" might not be the right word, but just going to put this in spoilers:
so at first i thought the champagne was just a kind of gratuitous addition to the sex scene. however, at the end when we see Greta's real spidery form there is a yellowish liquid that looks a lot like champagne pouring out of "her" and running down over her body.

i don't know if this means that while he's doing all this stuff with Greta in the illusion that he's actually "interacting" with her real form in the real world, but that could be a hint that the illusion is more of an augmented reality and that he's actually having some kind of sex with this alien. i think it's actually probably all in his head and the champagne is just foreshadowing and the real spider Greta through the bottle is just an easter egg, but even if that's the case they're great little details that show the thought that went into the episode.

and if he really is fucking that spider alien and licking some kind of liquid pouring out of it while thinking he's having fun sex with his girl, that makes the story even more disturbing.

A friend recommended this to me, recently. Said it was up our mutual sick, twisted humor alley.

If you had to summarize the series in 2 sentences or less, how would you?
Animatrix meets Black Mirror. With cartoon boobs.

Should i watch this in order, or just skip and watch the best ones?

I'd just watch the whole thing, the eps are only between 5-20 minutes long.

Btw some of these episodes are based on short story books

beyond the aquila rift is one of them

just saying if someone didnt know/wants to read them

I fuckin hate SJW shit that’s fortified into a lot of entertainment, but didn’t get that vibe from this at all.

TBH, it does carry that vibe in the first few minutes, and I was skeptical too. Lesbian...hates men...fighting against the evil men...

It was a little heavy handed in the beginning, but it subsides quickly.

It's hard to summarize, because it's an anthology. It's got a little bit of everything from cutesy humor, to dark humor, to drama, to extreme violence, sex, yada, yada, all with unique animation styles. It's mostly comparable to The Animatrix as far it's format goes, but it's wildly different, and unpredictable. It's best summarized by it's title, to be honest.

It's hit and miss like all anthology series, but it's got something for everyone. It's a breeze to watch too, because the episodes are so short.

I watched all of them the other night with no idea what it was about and loved it. Its nice to see a show trying something new instead of the same rehashed shit that has been coming out for the last 10 years, but at the same time it reminded me of old classics like Heavy metal, Animatrix, Ghost in the shell and even the older animated Disney movies.

Black Mirror with ADD and a lot of cocaine.

And LSD.

this is so fucking awesome. I'll vote when I'm done.

I’m thinking about rewatching it. I never rewatch stuff.
same. I usually multitask when I binge watch so I"m sure I missed something and even if I didn't its so freaking cool.

This is great. I was just searching for stuff like this the past week or so (trippy sci-fi animation) and lo and behold the universe delivers.

the witness was lame it was some m.night shayamalan twist garbage. three robots is the best so far I haven't watched the rest.

sonnies edge was basically pacific rim but instead of jaegers they mentally controlled the kaiju.

Hard to pick just five, more or less I liked them all.

For the poll I voted Beyond the Aquila Rift, Suits, Secret War, Blindspot and Alternate Histories

I’m not tracking with you. These were genetically engineered gladiators, not kaiju. The themes we not the same. At all. No global threat. If anything, you could say it’s more like Real Steel.
