Why the Philippines?

They have a huge history of producing films made by Italians that are pretty much the same. Terminator, Predator, Platoon, Rambo, Robocop... They killed it in the mockbuster genre before it even had a name. The Italians themselves did this extensively in their own country, but The Philippines seems more likely to mass produce knockoffs than Italy as far as toys go.

Hmm, no shit. I was unaware.

I'm sure there's SOMEONE out there who makes a point of collecting this kind of shit

Im honestly thinking I might become that guy
Just seeing these pics is bringing back strong childhood feels so it might be time to start filling up one of the spare bedrooms with more useless crap

Interesting. So you'd want the knock off shit instead of the authentic shit?

Yea cause these are the kinds of toys I grew up with
Discount store/flea market knockoffs and if I did start collecting it would be forvpersonal satisfaction not money or braggibg rights
Im already a low tech hipster kinda guy so this kinda stuff really interests me for some reason

Gotcha. Well shit, go for it. I'm sure you'd at least end up with an interesting collection.

I've always wanted to get into collecting SOMETHING. Rare books is one thing that interests me but that can get really expensive. This probably sounds random, but I love "A Christmas Carol" and I'd love to have a first edition, but in good condition they go for about $25,000. That's a bit out of my price range at the moment.

I've thought about other things, like coins and other types of currency or autographs or rare VHS tapes (the problem here is that most of those are horror and that doesn't turn me on), but nothing has really caught on.

I suppose I do collect things in a more general sense. I have a fair amount of books and a decent little collection of Blu-Rays. But none of that is rare in any way.

Fucking lol @ fisherman spidey

The "furniture" of law enforcement? I'm creasing up with laughter here.

RobertCop 2, Ray Liotta, Fisherman Spidey and Teenage Mutant Ninja Tortoise all killed it.

It would be weird. Almost a corruption and perversion of your past. Just as your memory and recollections can be corrupt and false.

Maybe I am reading too much into this. Back to work.

at first I thought "Darth Macho" was a novelty toy sold by Dom Mazzetti, hell he has a t-shirt called "the Empire lifts back" with a back shot of Vader.

Wait a sec, I just realized. The Robert Cop one, advertising Ray Liota. That means Ray Liota must have sold the rights to his name and likeness to that company. Way to lowball yourself Ray.

This thread is incredible.

"RobertCop: The Furniture of Law Enforcement" = epic sig.
