I live in Auburn, NY, which is about 40 minutes or so from Syracuse, and am close to getting a raise at work (farmboy crosses figures). If I get a decent enough raise, I may have enough to start taking some grappling classes, but I don't know which style to go with.
I'm 29 years old, and the only experience I've had in grappling is the little bit of self-defense the we do at the karate dojo that I go to. Pete Petrosino is a 5th degree black belt in judo that was supposed to come and start training us, but he's had some issues and won't be making it.
Is there anyone from around the Syracuse (or Auburn) area that might be able to make any suggestions.
