How many other events can we think of where ALL the winners in the major fights, and one of the losers, went on to do incredible things (well Khabib hasn't done anything else in the cage but his rep has grown to mythic levels)?
Werdum def. Browne
Tate def. Carmouche
Cerrone def. Barboza
Romero def. Tavares
Numagomedov def. Dos Anjos
Werdum was on a good run but not taken seriously by many as a championship level fighter, and was in fact a betting underdog to the younger, bigger and regarded as more athletic 'New Breed' Browne. Dominates Browne and goes on to become champion.
Tate had lost 3 of her 4 last fights and was perceived by many as overrated with her top 3 ranking. Squeaked by Carmouche but this was the beginning of NeoTate as it was her first fight with added muscle. Goes on to become champion.
Cerrone was regarded by some as a gatekeeper and Barboza was the first top level fighter he beat in his streak which would go on to include Alvarez, Jury, and Bendo leading up to challenging for the title.
Romero was thought to be an underdog by many (and might have been a betting underdog, don't remember for sure) to the taller, younger Tavares on a streak. Dominates Tavares and goes on to become a red hot contender.
Dos Anjos was ranked highly but flying under most's radar as a title contender, lost his fight to Khabib but would then go on to become champion with amazing wins over Bendo, Diaz, Pettis and Cerrone.
Khabib riding the accomplishments of Dos Anjos since their fight would go on to become a near mythic being and uncrowned LW king in the eyes of many.
This event also started the very popular Barboza glass chin myth and increased the Troll king Werdum's fan love by magnitudes.
God tier event? The beginning of an era or 'Advent of Gatekeepers' (FOUR people regarded as gatekeepers or non-serious contenders by many winning and going on to be champion or title contenders, insane).
