Looking back how exactly did Elias do so well?

Fair take, though it's worth noting he's not completely skill-less... BJJ Blackbelt and Muay Thai Blue Belt .

His only losses came to Brunson, Brad Tavares and Thiago Fucking Santos, and none of them finished him... Nothing to be ashamed of.
Oh yeah don't get me wrong thats why i pointed it out he can get away with this stuff because he has legit skills

It's his movement, footwork, and point fighting style that gave everyone problems. Most fighters are very stationary and lack any movement or footwork. They will always have a hard time with movement based fighters like Adesanya, Conor, Cruz, Wonderboy, Dillashaw, etc. Plus Elias uses a traditional karate/tae kwon do style of striking that throws people off instead of muay thai/kickboxing style that most fighters are used to.

For sure, just felt it needed stating he does have fairly orthodox skills and martial arts background, it's not like he's got some like Bataireacht(Irish Stick fighting) background or anything lol, just applies his conventional training unorthodoxly like you said.
I'd love to see some of his training video's with Firas Zahabi, wonder what kind of shit he was drilling.

To be fair, any fighter that would use a bit of his point fighting strategy would do well. Hit and move without commiting. Most fighters just plod forward or backwards, so its not that hard...

Refusal to commit to exchanges and willing to spend majority of fights not engaging can actually lead to some wins. He fought to avoid losing.

I mean Theodorou is a professional mma fighter so he probably knows what he is doing, but still outside of his ground and clinch game ( which he didn't use much ) i can't pick up anything about his fighting game that isn't what a street bum on crack would do in a mma fight. Still he menage to go on a winning streak ufc carrer and i belive he even cracked the top 10 one time.

I know you guys are just probably post his gifs here but im serious, did he do something very special that i can't see as just a mma fan?

He has very good movement and covers a lot of distance with his kicks. He's absurdly calm in a fight which is a strength. He's physically very strong and he has decent takedowns and very good TDD.

It's weird because when he's actually aggressive he can do pretty well. He absolutely clowned and finished Hernani Perpetuo in his only fight since leaving the UFC and Hernani is an okay fighter.

Nothing special at all. The confusion is believing in the myth that the UFC has the best fighters.

The only MW's I would have absolute confidence in beating Elias outside the UFC are Mousasi and Vladimir Mineev. I think Ismailov and Tokov would be interesting and close fights. I think he beats just about everyone else unless there's someone I'm not thinking of. He'd absolutely toy with someone like John Salter.

He stunned his opponents with his otherworldly good looks. Also, no camp had a guy who could imitate Theodoru's style, so he was hard to prepare for. Where can you find a fighter to do a showtime kick to the thigh off the cage?
Don't forget he did those kicks with the force of a 7 year old who plays fort night 10 hours a day.

He had hair straight from the cover of a romance novel bro.

Rofl. I pray you're trolling but unfortunately I know you actually believe this. Carry on.

I don't think MW is an especially strong division worldwide and I watch most shows of probably around 20 organisations, but I'm open to names of people you think beat him.

He also has a fantastic chin. Physically very strong, compared to even a normal athlete he would be absurdly strong.
Most bums off the street would get KOed through their guard.

I'm thrilled you watch 20 organizations but to think he definitely beats everyone outside of a couple of guys including Moose is hilarious. There's nothing special about him relative to the better fighters in other organizations. Him versus 300 year old Okami would be interesting.

He’s currently the butt of many Sherdog threads. And a part of culture war for being a “Ring card Boy” for Invicta because that’s controversy for some reason.

And he has a YT channel so yeah that’s his lot in life.

Still dreamy tho ;)

Okami has looked pretty bad lately. Elias would beat him pretty comfortably based on movement alone I think.

Its so easy to be a top 15 fighter
Try it for yourself
