Talking about money grabs ..how was Sergei vs Tom for an interim title fight , for a champion who just got hurt not a cash grab by the UFC?? It was literally only a fight that took place because Jones got hurt .. otherwise Tom would be fighting Derrick lewis on fight night card somewhere right now

No, it literally checks the one box, money, and nothing else. Very few fans are genuinely excited to see this fight. It obviously does nothing but stall the division indefinitely, that's a box you didn't bother adding. As far as legacy, this is clearly bad for Jon's legacy. It's pure nuttery to try and spin it any other way. And skillwise? Tom is far and away the most even matchup in the division for Jon. Stipe is a complete unknown at this point. You're trying so hard to paddle upstream with this, but the current's not going to relent. Enjoy it, I guess. Easier to just acknowledge it for what it is.

Stipe not only got KO'd in his last fight but didn't look good in it and was looking sloppy for a couple fights before that. He also hasn't fought for 4 YEARS.
You can't just brush off the age. 42 is OLD at any weight class. Stipe is the only heavyweight over 40 in the top 15 and he has literally no wins over anyone else. You can find individual examples of heavyweights who have stayed high level post 40 but the vast majority of heavyweights fall off before then.
Coming off a bad loss? Check.
Extreme inactivity? Check.
Extremely old? Check.
The odds are very much against him, regardless of what he accomplished in his early to mid 30s.

Aspinall is just the next guy in line haters hope with all their hearts could beat Jones and make him pay for whatever he's done within his personal life in their eyes.
That's what it's really about.
I like Aspinall, but people are incredibly delusional to think he brings anything to the table that Jones hasn't seen before.
He's good but he's not THAT good. Neither Is anyone at HW for that matter.
The fact that someone like that could even be underrated is crazy and a testament to the power of hate.
Jones has a history of being unmotivated for fights. Reyes, Smith, Santos, OSP, Gus 1. Which the round table of Evans, DC, Smith prior to the Gane fight also eluded to.
This is the reason he moved to HW in the first place.
Which is an important point people seem to be ignoring here.
He doesn't need to fight anymore. Only reason he's here is because the UFC gave him a huge pay bump to fight at HW.
How much of a pay cut would he be taking to fight Tom?
I'd much rather Jones actually take fights that get his blood flowing, so she shows up at his absolute best for his last few fights.
So would most fans.
But, deep in their hearts, some people are just praying that someone manages to beat Jones before he retires.
Of course you can't see that they both looked like drunken brawls because you're in awe of that overhyped 'adjustment'
