Top Rank vice president Carl Moretti and Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn met Friday at the Oscar Valdez-Scott Quigg fight hotel in Manhattan Beach, California to talk about a three-fight deal for Top Rank to co-promote British lightweight contender Luke Campbell (17-2, 14 KOs) under which Campbell would fight in the United States this summer and fall with the third fight coming in the first quarter of 2019 against pound-for-pound king and junior lightweight titlist Vasiliy Lomachenko, who is moving up to lightweight. Moretti said the potential Lomachenko fight – a match between Olympic gold medalists – would probably be in England. “Eddie loves it. Luke loved it,” Moretti said. “We’ll get into further details in the next couple of weeks.”

Hey, it's ya boy, Eddie Hearn. Was just trolling and ya took the bait. We're only in the first quarter of 2018 ya schlub.

Yours Truly,
Eddie

The fight we've waited our whole lives for.

They're talking about this fight for early 2019. No idea why considering we're in early (Q1) 2018.
Gotta wait until Linares looks like garbage first. you act like you aren't familiar with Top Rank promotion. Remember Nicholas Walters? PM me, I'll send you the fights.

Uh, alright. Would rather see Salido-Lomachenko 2.

This match-up with Linares hasn't even been officially confirmed yet. There are rumors that it's done. Since you like The RING's version of the Lineal championship so much then you shouldn't mind Linares who holds that along with the WBA's world title. Linares, the clear #2 fighter in the division, would be Loma's first fight in a new division north (his third division in 12 pro fights). The consensus #1 in the Lightweight division, Mikey, wasn't available and just fought last night. He turned down the Linares fight where there were no strings attached when Eric Gomez offered it to him publicly. He wants Loma to do his work for him.

Right, because Linares has looked OK in his last couple. Wait until he wins a disputed decision decision where he takes a ton of punishment. Then we'll get that fight.

Well, let's take a look at the current titleholders in the division. Robert Easter Jr. just won a Split Decision against Fortuna (who Sosa iced at 130). Without the point deduction it would've been a draw. Beltran just fought for the vacant WBO title as you know. No, he didn't look good either. That leaves Garcia, who wasn't available (fought last night and his team says at least a year before fighting Loma) and Linares, the #1 and #2 guys in the division. There hasn't been a legitimate Lineal since Crawford vacated in 2015. Mikey could've become the legitimate Lineal champion and beat Linares for it but he turned the fight down. So, what the WBC did was order it next. He's the WBC's champion and that's who they're telling him he needs to fight if he wants to keep the title, the WBC Diamond beltholder (Linares).

Not sure how many times it has to be proven.

No Nicholas Walters until he looked like shit. No Rigondeaux until he's 38 and 2 weight classes below. No Salido rematch until he's been in 4 wars that shaved years off his life. But wait, whats this? Linares or Garcia? Well, OK. That sounds OK... wait, What do you mean Luke Campbell? Now its Linares NEXT YEAR? Its fucking March!

Classic Top Rank hype.

Walters beat Sosa and Sosa received a gift draw. Rigo was only 2 months removed from turning 37 (if that's his actual age, which we could apply to every other Cuban fighter) who moved up two weight classes because he asked for the fight after turning it down when it made more sense (and money for him) in 2015. It's on video. They could've fought at Featherweight/126 when Loma was still there. Salido ducked Loma the moment he moved up and smashed Martinez (who beat Salido).

This Campbell talk is for early 2019. Glad to clear it up for you.
