Lol, wtf are the commentators saying?

It was pretty close, Aldo just ran away with it in the third.

Surprised Aldo doesn’t grapple more often. Probably scared to gas in 5 rounders.
He won't gas if he sticks to the backpack strategy. If he is blasting double legs and scrambles, then yeah, he will gas.

And remember, he tried to grapple with Yan, in the first round, when he was destroying Yan, and Yan hurt him badly to the body on the ground.

If he hadn't have tried to grapple with Yan, he might (big if though) have won the entire fight, because the exchange clearly took a lot out of him, and after that his gas tank disappeared fast.

The UFC wants to push Cheetos cause he’s value priced. Aldo probably costs too much and they want some scrub from the contender series to take his roster spot.
They want to push chito cause he is an entrance to the untouched ecuatorian market. It's so obvious.

Fuck Jose. Been in the UFC 86 years and still can not speak a word of English and he wonders why nobody gives a fuck. Most overrated fighter on the UFC roster ever

After the 2 Holloway beatings I'm impressed he still knows Portuguese.

Yeah who cares about the skill and technique? Who cares about the fight? I personally change channels and only watch the interviews.

nah aldo still sell tickets in brazil. they’ll need him when fans come back

I feel like UFC commentary team are always composed of guys who don't really like BJJ. It's always filled with ex strikers or wrestlers. There's never BJJ guys on the commentary.

Werdum?

they seemed to be calling it correctly until the fight metrics showed up and they just started acting like those are legitimate
The accuracy of fight metrics is extremely suspect to me. I have no idea what the criteria are for "significant strike".

Im not sure whoever is in charge of noting strikes is experienced enough to know the difference between a checked kick, a touch leg kick, and a heavy leg kick, for example.

I've never heard him on Commentary, but I don't listen to the Portuguese or spanish commentary, so that might be why. Maybe he acts less ashamed and apologetic when the fights hit the floor than Bisping and DC do.

The skill and technique went years ago. Conor then Max destroyed the guy. The fact he has never learned to speak English makes him far less appealing to the casual. Granted he has a hardcore fanbase but in general nobody gives a fuck

Okay, no problem. We'll both just agree that you're really dumb then.

They're...questionable. There's actually some fights where a fighter doesn't take a single hit to the head in a round and the stats credit the opponent with like 5 significant head strikes. It's basically a couple guys whacking a clicker while watching the fight, it sorta gets you in the ballpark but it's hardly accurate or reliable.

This could definitely be automated, idk how it's done now

Yeah Aldo won 30-27. Like what the actual fuck. Aldo was bombing the body head and legs, Chito just landed some ok low/body kicks and a few shots in the clinch. Chito was putting pressure on very well but he wasnt close to out scoring him. It was looking like Chito was setting up for a big round 3 but then Aldo bamboozled him with the back take.

DC gives really good insights to specific moments but his read on fights, especially scoring wise, while hes watching is really bad. Same with the Figuerdo fight last weekend where Figuerdo beat the brakes off Moreno in 4 out of five rounds.

The commentary was all biased towards the younger, cheaper fighters tonight. Even during the Wonderboy fight they kept talking up Neal even though he was getting schooled.

The UFC needs a whole new commentary team

bisping cruz anik felder are solid

joe is insufferable these days

DC i'd rather not hear, but it ain't as bad as joe
