Tony is a good fighter with alot of heart and toughness but in reality his 12 fight win streak was padded to the maximum. Never fought a top 3 ranked guy other than an RDA coming off a KO loss and never fought anyone with decent boxing until he got exposed by Justin on short notice.

Tony's biggest credential was winning the interim title...against Kevin Lee and just got outgrappled by a blown up FW in Do Bronx.

Khabib would have destroyed Tony with ease.

He’s about to be 37 years old. Eventually every fighter loses it. Doesn’t mean he was overrated. I don’t recall any lightweight ever being great at 37 years old.

I think you're delusional. Khabib is a far better wrestler than Oliveira and would control Tony just as well if not better. Only difference is Khabibs GnP is deadlier and he would give Tony brain damage from elbows.

Tony is kind of how people talk about Nate Diaz. I thought Tony had better wrestling than that though but Charles was literally rag-dolling him with those takedowns.

I was surprised at how massive do Bronx looked. If he's not on some special supplements, he wasted years moving between LW and trying to cut down to FW. He looks like he's peaking right now and it just goes to show that trying to cut a lot of weight isn't necessarily beneficial.
 
@2EZ khabib is no Olivera. 2 different ground skill sets. Tony would be the one throwing subs on Khabib
 
Tony probably has shot legs. He doesn't look like physically the same fighter he used to be. Just so weak and weak strikes.
 
I dont agree with the people saying Tony is past it. He's as good as ever, just got outclassed by two guys.

But, the idea that he had an elite guard, or that his elbows from his back would beat khabib, was always far fetched.

He has been wrestlefucked before and Kevin Lee was dominating him on the mat til he gassed out.

Is it unfathomable that charles is just... Better at bjj and that tony, outside if charles/khabib/islam is unfuckwithable on the ground? ? You think gaethje could do that on the ground? Poirier? Kevin le....oh no nah Ever considered that? Tony is lit. Maybe out of his prime. Maybe still in it but charles js just superior. Either way oliveira FTW!
