OP fails to understand the concept that fighters can (yes...actually improve)

Some fighters come into their own later than others

Robbie Lawler is one of them

Robbie would actually take the fight to Rory if it was to happen unlike the Chokanaught

I have to disagree. Lawler is one of the most explosive strikers in the division but not a "great "striker. because of the conservative way Rory strikes I don't see Lawler catching him.
Lawlers to 1 dimensional to beat him anywhere else. So i think Rory Shuts him down.
 
I see what you are saying TS. If Robbie can win 4 straight, I'll shut up. Until then, everyone is all over him simply cause he knocked out two guys and one of them was Kos.
 
lolololol. Robbie is on a streak at 70 just like Maia. Til someone beats them at 70 they will continue to gain steam got a problem, fight em.
 
I think Ellenbergers better than Lawler and Mcdonald would beat Lawler with ease.

Lawlers entertaining and I'd love to see him make a run but it aint happening.

Lawlers always been talented and it seems he's got his shit together but it isn't ten years ago. His hypetrain is driven by a spanish driver doing 120 on a 50 track.
 
robbie lawler has a lot of power in a lot of different strikes, however he doesn't have the skill to land them full force on a prodigy like Rory. Rory by whatever he wants.
 
These kind of hypes happen all the time when someone puts on a streak of impressive performances. When the hype ends people act like it never happened. I never give hype to a fighter until they are really proven. Lawler is not that proven yet.
 
Love how you show his record but neglect to say all those fights in the picture were at MW, not WW, and some of those guys like Larkin, Kennedy and Babalu have actually fought at LHW. Lawler is 10-2 at WW.

Not saying he's the best WW in the world but he's definitely top 10 level and may be top 5 (though he still has to show it).
 
If you've followed Robbie his whole career you'd know with the way he looked Saturday night why there's hype.

His feet/hands never looked quicker, he'd never picked angles so intelligently, he'd never mixed in his kicks/knees so seamlessly with his punches, he'd never slipped shots with head movement that way, he even got back to threatening with his wrestling, which is underrated as hell cause he never uses it.

Yeah it was just Bobby Voelker but that is exactly what someone with Lawler's talents is supposed to do to someone of Voelker's level.


Robbie should be feared right now.

i think its more of a weight cut being his advantage rather than him improving
 
I want to know this... where do some people get their bat-shit crazy ideas that they believe everyone is on a new, unrealistic bandwagon making outrageous claims? You know what I'm talking about, these fucking guys who feel the need to start a new thread and declare how they are able to see through the hype that everyone else is fictionally perpetuating. eg. "everyone thinks such-and-such fighter will beat outrageous competition because of this so-so win...not me!"

Who the fuck is saying Lawler will beat GSP? I haven't seen anyone saying that on here, let alone thinking that's the general consensus of Sherdog.

If you want to just go on a rant about some over-hyped veteran/up-and-comer, then by all means, start a thread and rant. No need for the bullshit.

Granted - he was getting lit up like a mofo but he KO'd Manhoef and looked unstoppable in his last two fights! Hype? This is the dude that has been around when guys were wearing one glove to the ring!
