LOL @ the Robbie Lawler hype

While I think it's completely ok that people were wrong about Lawler (I were as well), it's always interesting to be reminded how rapid the public opinion on fighters change, and how rapidly they change themselves.

Historically interesting, in other words.

I can't believe the TS is banned, after all his hard work making these posts. At least his threads are still here for us to enjoy.

Seriously. Goddamn.

Poor man's Ellenberger who can't beat Rory right there :D

First of all, I don't think he deserved the win this time. Second of all, I also think that Rory will beat him in a rematch.

I'm not saying that he sucks, because he does not, but at the same time he's not going to keep that belt for long.

His style can be described as, "punch me so I can punch you harder", which is not a very smart plan in the long run.

You are now honorary TS

All these people saying "Robbie could probably beat Rory".

Are people not realising that Robbie already did?

Hey I am with you. Hendricks won the 5th round easy. He had headbutted almost every strike Lawler threw in the 5th round and I just know he was about to shatter that fist but the bell rang and somehow the judges didn't understand what he was doing.

You realize this thread is over a year old, right?

How long he may keep the belt has a lot more to do with the fact that you have a very talented bunch of top guys in that weight class and now that a potential GOAT has been removed from the equation, on any given night the rest of the top guys are talented enough that any one might beat the other. And it would take a GOAT candidate to rule that division with all the talent. So I really don't see what that proves unless you are going to knock anyone who isn't GOAT level.

And out of the 7 UFC fights he has had (since coming back), only one could be described as trading punches and that was the first fight between him and Hendrix. If anything, he has taken some flak for being too patient. There isn't a striker out there besides maybe Machida who won't at times eat a punch to give a punch. But it is hardly his game-plan. He has been fighting very disciplined, making sure to defend against the TD and looking for opportunities to unload.

And how can you knock a guy's game-plan or fight style when he has used it to beat Rory, Jake, Hendrix, and Brown? Not sure what you would need from him to be convinced he is a top fighter that he hasn't already done.

Glad to see TS banned, people like him are a cancer on the sport

most of robbie's losses have come to bigger guys ... he is at a good spot at 170 .. the rory fight will be different if a five rounder ... but i think lawler can take it ... as for the gsp fight, gsp has proven he can stay away from the power of guys with one shot KO power like alves, hardy, johnny ... he would stay away from lawler, use his kicks (like hendricks and pick his spots to take down robbie ...

I love how some of these "Strikefarce" (i mean people who were in strikeforce during the days where Dana White dickriders would call it strikefarce, i know Robbie was in the UFC before that) dudes have been coming to the UFC and smashing people in the top 10. I was laughing at those noobs back then and i'm still laughing at them now.

Robbie is the worst UFC champ record wise in a while. Atleast Johny had the win/lose record to look comparable to all the other champs who had 2 or less losses. Now you are trying to tell me the WW champ has lost 10 times already? Thats elite? Please, Johny Hendricks rounds 2-3-4 and 48-47, robbery of decade.
