That was so anti-climatic. Even Stipe was surprised. Screaming "I'm the champ" and his corner just looking at him weird.

No way you're going to overtake Fedor as HW GOAT now, Werd. That was embarassingly sloppy.

I hope the myth of Werdum having world class striking will go away just like Mir's striking. His ground game is what scares the opponents.

Sloppy is the perfect Werd to use for what happened tonight. That was downright amateur of Fab.

Is it possible that Werdum was far from 100% and had desperation in mind? That rush made no sense. Werdum is a very cerebral fighter, in general.

Anyway, props to Stipe for being the guy.

Could be worse, he could of got ktfo by a middleweight.

So many questions. Fatter-than-last-time-Werdum looked quite decent I thought in the early going: Stipe wasn't running circles around him, he got good strikes through and was confident enough to go after it. Stipe got work done also and then either Werdum felt threatened or felt a quick finish coming and just dropped his guard like a bum and went on chasing. Stipe is great at catching these guys and Werdum fell like a tree.

With a Werdum loss, it is aligned for the dark lord Fedor to make his entry to the UFC. First fight against Fabricio Werdum, then back to RIZIN to mop up some puroresu guys.

Why the random Fedor reference? Lol yeah he looked foolish though.

i was never a werdum believer ever. I am a believer in luck tho and werdums run was 100% luck and circumstance in his favor. There is an excuse for pretty much all his wins. Lets have a look.
1. fedor dives into a triangle and gives away a free win
2. Roy + Russow = Sloppy brawler bottom tier stepping stone fighters made to lose to everybody
3. Nog. Your grandma woulda beat him at that point in his career.
4. Brown. Another overrated sloppy brawler. Mcdojo Edmond Fighter who's best win was also luck
5. Hunt = had no training camp.
6. Cain = nearly 2 years ring rust
This guy went on the biggest luck streak in UFC history and it led to a title. It wasn't just the fights themselves that were lucky it was the circumstances/path that led to his title win. Fight vs a guy with no camp to get the title shot and a fight vs a guy coming off an injury for 2 years to become champ.

Well at least he did a better job than Aldo.
