The confusion with that finish is that Cro Cop posted while standing up and with Barnett trying to keep him on the ground, but when he posted his hand, instead of landing on the mat, he landed on Barnett's face and his finger went into Barnett's eye. (In Barnett's words, it was hard enough trying to stop Cro Cop when he could see, he didn't want to have to fend off kicks blind ) It would've been better if Cro Cop could've gotten a "clean" finish to cap off his OWGP run, but he had Barnett on the ropes in the first 10 seconds. Nothing and nobody was stopping him that night. I remember being surprised, though, that Cro Cop bothered following Barnett to the ground. It's one thing to go down into Wanderlei's guard, but Barnett was so slick on the ground, I'm surprised Cro Cop didn't just start soccer kicking him once he dropped him with that body shot and then let him stand up again if he managed to defend and recover.

Always looked to me like the GnP shot Mirko threw just before that hit Barnett right in the eye although honestly I think Josh was probably done at that point anyway. Mirko did have some very nasty GnP during his prime, really I think the Wand match earlier in the night what turned the fight in his favour was the inital burst of GnP after Silva tries to take him down and gets reversed, Mirko blitzed him with hammerfists and he looked a bit out of it when they stood back up before walking right into a left straight.

Yep. Again, it's like a nut shot. No matter how tough and strong you are, if you get hit at the right spot at the right moment, you're going to need a minute.

Seems like they have the potential to finish fighters who can respond to being rocked, either Mirko had say dropped Heath with the left straight I suspect he'd have been able to tie him up and prevent a finish.
