I’ve never understood the whole Messi vs Ronaldo debate, I felt like it was forced by the media to create clicks and interest. How someone could watch both players play football and come to the conclusion that ronaldo was better always left me baffled. Messi was always well clear. The guy can do everything, score and playmake, he’s the complete attacking player.

For me the debate has been Messi vs Maradona vs Pele but I don’t like comparing different eras cause football was different back then and I’m not old enough to have seen maradona or Pele play. All I have to judge them by are clips.

The only knock I have on Pele is he won the World Cup 3 times but he won it with the best international team of all time, the teams he played in had some of the greatest players of all time. I think they would have won it with or without Pele. Maradona and Messi didn’t have a great team when they won it.

But the three kings and Messi Maradona and Pele and the debate on who is better will go on forever

Agreed, you could maybe understand it if purely looking at personal stats but Ronanldo always played in a sub-optimal way and would always go for personal glory even when the higher % play was to pass to a teammate in a better position. His talent was good enough for a long time that it was worth taking the hit to appease his ego but that's no longer the case.

He is like the GSP of Football, Argentina's setback to Saudi Arabia was like when GSP lost to Matt Serra or Usman losing to Caceres I'd say, and Tunisia beating France was similar to Warlley/Colby, but when the 2 of Argentina and France clashed, it was like Usman vs Colby 1, one of the best fights ever in 2019 and in UFC history, and that football match was one of the best matches ever in 2022 and in Football history, Messi's Argentina lost his chance in 2014 against Germany like when Glover lost his chance to Jon in 2014 but Messi's Argentina won it in 2022 against France similar to Glover finally winning his title from Jan in 2021, what a career! what a story! this will go down in history as one of the most storied careers! not just in Football history but in Sports history! GO MESSI!
