SAN DIEGO — Workers toiled in intense 95-degree heat here Tuesday, putting final touches on eight possible versions of President Donald Trump's long-promised border wall.

As an Oct. 26 deadline to finish the prototype border-wall designs drew near, The Arizona Republic toured the construction site a few dozen yards from the border that divides this city from neighboring Tijuana, Mexico.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection awarded eight contracts to six companies, including two from Arizona, to build the prototypes. Four are made of reinforced concrete, and another four incorporate additional construction materials. Construction began on Sept. 26, giving companies 30 days to finish.

im skeptical about the effectiveness of the wall, but welcome it nonetheless.

the symbolism, the jobs, and less migration = win win win

Read my post history. I was for the wall early in the campaign and now although I know it's unnecessary it wouldn't bother me too much. We need border security and if a wall helps a little I'm fine with it.

Why is Trump and the rest of conservative white America so scared of Latinos if we are so weak and degenerate? Makes no sense for the supposedly "strong" to fear the "weak."
 
I also wonder is Mexico going to pay for it like Trump bots believed he would. Or was that another tactic to fleece the under 90 IQ crowd that voted Trump?

Why does it have to be fear? Why can't it be wanting adherence to an established boarder crossing system?

There has been an established border crossing system for years. Placing a wall with turrets, cameras, alligators, barbed wire, and drones demonstrates fear of people that don't have even 75% of the offensive capabilities that you do. What are you so scared of?

We have tried, in many countries, but unfortunately the U.S. continues to meddle in our business, so the solution that some see is for us to step up our meddling in your business and change your way of life for the sake of our survival. It's a logical outcome, a boomerang effect, that you guys have bred and now you will reap what you have sowed for 200 years.
