It is true. Most of those who always go on about how shit the country is, have never even left it. Or if they have, they went to some resort and think that is how the country they are visiting actually is. Though the same is also true on the flip side, in that many who act like it has zero flaws, have also never left.... We just need people to get outside of their own bubble and travel more, regardless of political views.

I couldn't agree more. I have the benefit of being an immigrant whose family escaped a Communist dictatorship so I can really appreciate having the opportunity to grow up in North America and as much as it's not perfect here, I have many examples to compare it to that make it look pretty damn good.

I had a friends dad tell me this in 2020, He was from hungary and did time in prision for speaking out against the government, He was eventually released once they were liberated but chose to leave hungary forever and come to the west.
