I have the same situation with one of my neighbours, they're a nice enough family and always says hi to me and of course I return the same niceness in their direction, but I notice they hang a small rainbow flag on one of their windows, and one time they commented about their trip to Florida and how shocked they are that so many people like Trump and how terrible he is.

I wanted to avoid conflict, but at the same time I couldn't go along with something if I don't actually believe it so I said something along the lines of the other side being even more outrageous to me.

I'm glad we didn't go beyond that, we still say hi and I think they're probably nice enough people overall and as long as we keep it to small talk we'll probably never have issues.

lmao the first racists didn't even have a concept of what racism was. they literally thought other races weren't even fully human. there are some self-identified racists for sure, but the vast majority don't even think they're being racist.

There's also the issue of the label being far overused. For example, if you point out that there are more black people in prison because more black people are committing crimes, a lot of people would consider that "racist," even though it's just statistics. In terms of true, unapologetic prejeduce - that is, thinking less of someone solely because of the color of their skin and nothing else - I've got to believe that's almost nonexistent these days, at least in modern society.
