My LG TV is now humming and it never has before. I can hear the humming slightly when volume is up but it is annoying me as I've never heard it before.

If I mute the TV the sound is gone. If I turn the TV to a different input, the humming is gone.

I have tried to unplug it and no resolve.

Any ideas?

Have you tried changing the cable? If changing the output gets rid of the hum, the cable may be the culprit.

If its only one input you have your answer right there. Something with that input is fried. Could be the cable, the jack, or the device plugged in.

When I change inputs their isn't any humming. Only when I'm on the cable side. I read that the cable box may be the culprit and is going bad or wires to the cable.

The cable company is coming out tomorrow.

The humming sound on cable side is now gone. It hummed last night and this am.

I will update.

Nothing ever acts up when the cable guy is there. On a similar note, there was a monitor at work that would hum for about 30 minutes when first turned on.

Self-destruct has been initiated remotely. See exploding washing machines.
