Just wondering if you guys know of any good videos to watch where you let your opponents pass or gain position purposely because you have an ace up your sleeve? like for example when mitch clarke caught al iaquinta in that darce as he passed.
Iv'e been caught before and its infuriating!! your muscle memory takes over if you feel that you can pass, and a second later you realise " hold on im in a (insert submission)!"

i do that with lasso grip, drop my leg so they think they can just walk around and sweep them. its pretty funny. doesnt work on more experienced ppl that way tho, gotta be more subtle in the misdirection. You can also be slicker and invert to an omplata. even more fun.

And also the funniest when you hit it on someone who's never seen it before.

the only time i've ever put someone to sleep was off a baseball bat choke, it comes on so fast if you hit it right

Came to post exactly this. I'll also invert to triangle.

I don't do it myself but there's the loop choke aswell when people toreado. I think Kron used to do it.

My favorite bait is to tuck my top arm in between my legs and let them pass straight into an underhook. I set it up with some last-ditch knee shield pressure, and then let them pop forward. At that point, it's easy to recover half guard or go into the basic side control escape to the back.

kimura his crossfacing arm before he gets the crossface

stuff his hand to his chest

swing yourself to north south and then all the way to side control on the opposite side

armbar

The Kimura grip stuff seems to be the most high percentage that I've seen, tried, and experienced personally

Watch Dave Porter darcing people up. Bait the pass to the left side, get the overhook, darce, profit.

Here's a vid I found:

I like to do this myself with the loop choke, get a nice collar grip and then bait them into sticking their head in the hole to pass.

For my money, when it's fully sunk it is the tightest lapel choke. It just collapses both carotids instantaneously.

this is the signature atos move, and i do it all the time. it's the best counter i have to all crossface attempts, and it works brilliantly from RDLR or knee shield halfguard. even if you don't swing yourself to north south, as soon as you get that grip, they're fucked.

and it looks totally ninja when you land it.

European Championship in grappling, classic example of baseball choke:
