The NWO storyline kicks into high gear as Hall and Nash reveal Hulk Hogan as their mystery partner in a clash with Lex Luger, Sting and Randy Savage, Chris Benoit and Kevin Sullivan brawl all over the arena again despite having Arn Anderson and the Giant in their respective corners, Rey Jr and Psychosis have a Match of the Year candidate, Big Bubba and John Tenta show off wrestling psychology 101, Ric Flair has a stinker with Konnan, The Nasties and Public Enemy have yet another brawl, Dean Malenko is wasting in a match with Disco Inferno, plus garbage from Hacksaw Duggan and Mongo! Some intriguing backstage news is included as well including Dr. Death almost going to the UFC, Vader breaking script in a match with the Ultimate Warrior, the WWF's suing WCW in order to make them break kayfabe and how the NWO angle was nearly ruined before it could barely start.

Fall Brawl sees a really fun WCW vs nWo War Games, Jericho and Benoit tearing one another apart, Macho Man trying to size up a Giant, plus other cruiserweight action, Ice Train and Scott Norton in a submission bout, backstage news including WWF stars who almost jumped to WCW, Ric Flair almost jumping to McMahonland, Hogan politicking and more!

Lmao at Mabel being the 3rd guy in the NWO. Fwiw I heard Bischoff in an interview say that if Hulkster wasn't down to turn heel than Sting would be the 3rd guy.

Sting would've been a good pick for the third man but it still wouldn't have had the same impact.

Nothing would have or could have had the impact of Hogan as the third man.

Ric Flair said that the match with Konnan was his lowest point in wrestling - being 4th spot down against a guy like Konnan - can't have felt good... All on the night where the NWO was born.

That's when Konnan actually wrestled and before he starting talking about strawberries and peeling potatoes.

Konnan was actually an amazing wrestler, not sure why he gets crapped on ...if i was to ever crap on anyone it was DDP / Jericho during the 90's.

WCW join "250,000" fans at a biker rally to watch the Giant plod along with Hulk Hogan, Sting and Lex Luger defend WCW's honor against Hall and Nash, Rey Jr flies with the Ultimo Dragon, Ric Flair tangles with Eddy Guerrero, Harlem Heat battle the Steiners as the crowd mimics a KKK rally, Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko put on a near classic, plus more backstage notes on all of WCW's foibles.

If I'm being honest, WCW was so hard to watch in England in the mid 90s I actually did a lot of catching up since the YouTube and all that... The first major contact I had with it was the WCW vs NWO Revenge video game on the N64, which was amazing... I literally had no clue who half the roster was. Even thought The Giant was Andre!

lol good game, played that a lot as well.

WCW had a nice run from 95-98, 99 started their slow decent before the train wreck hit.

Cruiserweights - Ravens Flock - Nwo....

Lot of good things were happening during that era - but as a fan I hated watching Mongo McMichael - Jeff Jarrett on the mic or in the ring.

What was wrong with DDP and Jericho? Havent seen their work since it happened, but Jericho in the 90's was young and hungry, cut great promos, had a decent gimmick(Jericholoics?), and wad an above-average worker. As for DDP, from what I recall, his game was basically that he had an everyman gimmick which put him over with the fambase, and a cool finish he could hit out of nowhere. Not exactly Hart and Austin, but I would hardly think of them as low-points on the WCW roster from that time.

First time seeing them in Sturgis was definitely different. Also when they had the pool around the ring for a random Nitro you knew you'd see a wet woman haha.
Yeah the spring break shows were great - Sting rappelling from the helicopter in 98 and Luger/Sting having a match on the beach and in the ocean in 2000.

Clash 33 or more appropriately a glorified Nitro sees Hulk Hogan try and figure out how to play heel against Ric Flair, Rey Jr and Dean Malenko continue their excellent series, DDP tries to ground Eddie Guerrero, The Steiners collide with Harlem Heat and Sting/Lex Luger, plus Chris Benoit tries to match up with the Giant. Also included is some news and notes from the time period including the WWF's plan to start running weekly PPVs.

98 WCW was terrible. You had that garbage with Warrior, Nash started taking over booking, and was it that year'/ Slamboree Bischoff had his "match" with Vince? I love 96-97 WCW, but that shit got hilariously bad really quick

Nash becoming Spring Break Cannonball Champion...
