Economy Let's talk gas prices

Regular is $2.89 and premium is $3.39 here at Racetrac and QT. Diesel is either 2.84 or 2.89.

$2.89 for unleaded here. Was as high as $2.99 so I guess it's heading in the right direction.

Only poor people care about what the price of gas is.

March 26, 2020.

I took this in Niagara Falls, it was the lowest price I can ever remember seeing in my life.

For those of you still stuck on Imperial (join the rest of the world already), 1 gallon = 3.785 L.

At 68.9 cents per Litre, that would have made the price $2.61 CAD per gallon for all you metric system nonconformists. However, with the exchange rate that day of 0.7133, the price would have been approximately $1.86 USD per gallon.

Insert obligatory "Thanks Sleepy Joe".

Just something interesting I thought I'd share.

They can’t hide the inflation. $6 per gallon by the end of the year is my prediction.

Right wingers will burn through half a tank of gas to drive to the middle of nowhere to get a pic of the most expensive gas in their state just to stick it to the libs and blame Biden, as if he is solely responsible for gas prices and inflation for the entire world.

Northern California is in the low $4s, but depending on specific location you can find gas for under $4 at like Costco, Sams Club. Sacramento is also a little cheaper then the Bay Area. The Costco where I live is $3.96/gallon and close to my sons school so there is no line in the morning. We are driving to Disneyland from Bay Area a week from now in our Honda Pilot. Our friends are also coming and driving their Model Y, but they are going to have to charge once along the way.

They have long term betters wagering this in the near future.... $150-200/barrel and to them it's just speculation and payoff for taking a tiny gamble in an insane range. China fucks with Taiwan, Iran or Israel bump the shit up, we're looking at well over $100/barrel....

...and the cost of food is ALREADY anywhere from 3.2% on common items, up to 10% through a major provider like sysco (restaraunt supplier) to 15% on certain meats and rare produce -- over about a 2 year period.

I don't think people get economics lol. You get a $1.00 raise, and your gas goes up $0.30 -- no big deal. Then the next day your $5 dollar footlong is a $6 footlong, and yer like, oh ok.

This is all leading to inflation from hell, but it's cool cause the people that were making $12 and hour got bumped to $15 but got $50+ added to their rent, gas, and food prices each every month. That min wage increase is almost immediately nullified and will only get worse as inflation rises.

I've been watching some videos from the night of the Rittenhouse shootings in Kenosha last summer. A lot of the footage was at a gas station and I keep getting completely distracted because the sign says $2.09 a gallon.
