i give him all the props for how beautiful his striking style is,i would give him all respect in the world if he got that superfight AFTER cleaning his division.
Conor McGregor is a great fighter.
Because in reality, McGregor landed some good shots on Diaz. His boxing looked slick with good head movement, good counter left, and good inside boxing with the left hook/uppercut combo that he landed a few times. Thing is, Diaz is just a better fighter than him along with being bigger.
He believed in his own hubris and that Aldo KO certainly didn't help. I feel that win made him believe that he could knock anyone out with a single punch which is not the case. And yeah, the 3 division champ thing was laughable.Conor's biggest problem is that he's in it for the money, trying to jump weight classes and make super fights right away instead of defending the belt at 145 and moving up organically. It all felt forced, this bullshit people were spewing about three division champion was just insane.
Haha. I'm guessing you haven't seen my posts. It's okay, I know it's not normal to show respect to the loser.TS feelings are hurt because his mancrush lost. Get over it you child
I'll respect him much more if he gets some defenses under his belt and does not let his ego dictate and consume him.
I am looking forward to seeing the 145 division get back on track, Conor may come out on top of the division or he may not.
Tons of talent there and if you can rule it you're definitely legit.
I've wondered the same. There has been rumors that he's going to abandon the belt at 145 and pursue 155 but I can't see him doing that after this loss. Guess we'll have to wait and see how his cut goes now that he has to come back down in weight.
Exactly.i give him all the props for how beautiful his striking style is,i would give him all respect in the world if he got that superfight AFTER cleaning his division.

He should but I have a feeling the Aldo rematch will happen. I think his next weight cut to FW will be quite telling in where he goes in terms of divisions. I'm sure he's tired of looking and feeling like a holocaust victim. He should fight Edgar at 200, but wouldn't be surprised if he gets matched up with Aldo. I think perhaps win or lose he will move to LW after his next title defense.
Very true. He didn't know what to do when fighting a longer guy with good boxing and durability. Once Nate hit him with that 1-2 he was lost. Getting hit with a stiff jab when throwing the wide left hand. Masterful stuff from Nate. There are weight classes for a reason, when skill is comparable size trumps it.
If he didn't make his career talking shit he wouldn't have made all the money. It's a double edged sword... I think he'll be back. He's had set backs before and has only got better with each and every fight.
Sorry to keep you waiting!Glad you set the record str8 we been waiting all night.
There were glimpses of excellence in his boxing against Nate. I agree that he did get sloppy and had trouble finding his range at times but he did land quite a few good punches. Diaz is just too good for him and hits too hard.I wouldn't say Connor's boxing was slick at all. Did you not see him repeatedly lunge forward with huge reaching single uppercuts from outside of Diaz's range?
As soon as he threw a couple of those wild shots in the first round, both Diaz and Mcgreggor himself knew he would need to get lucky to win.
He's still a good fighter. Physically and technically. But he is not adaptable. Maybe his couches are to blame... but he just didn't have a game plan. It's as if he only realized 1 minute into the fight that he would need find a way to close the distance. And he attempted to do so in Artem Lobov's signature style of throwing wild punches from the waist whilst leaping forward. Which obviously is a terrible idea. Especially if you don't have the chin to pull it off.
He essentially lost because Diaz was the smarter fighter.
It would really be a shame if he did just decide to stick to FW for the rest of his career. He'll end up just being another champion who had a long run. Who was unbeatable in his division until enough time passes that someone new comes along. Because the sad thing is, the longer MMA is in the mainstream and the more it grows. The less important/memorable/special/whatever champions will become.
He has the skills, the physical ability and determination to live his "super fight" career dream. He and his team just need to engage their brains a little more to make it a reality before time gets the better of him.
