It goes both ways. You say calling some of his opponents bums is disrespectful but in the same breath you refer to Chucks striking as "masterful" There was nothing masterful about it and that is just an objective observation.

No it doesn't. Disrespecting a fighter is wrong unless it's truth, and necessary. Praising a legendary pro fighter in Chuck Liddell is not wrong if you don't agree with it. Perhaps you could be inaccurate, ever considered that? So you could be more neutral with your discrediting. Just my advice, as a well-wisher.

Liddell was winning early in the Jardine and Franklin fights and lost. Liddell even had Jardine and his corner on their heels after winning round 1. Liddell also won (competitive) decisions over Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva. IMO you seem to have a difficult time giving Liddell his proper due.

Well this thread was how Chuck was a masterful mixed martial artist. He was not. He had good takedown defence and standup and had great power. He was not a well rounded Mixed martial artist and today his skills would not get him very far. Also he did not defeat the best in the world at that time since Pride was around. Pride had better LHW division. Granted that he was the best fighter in the UFC at that one time when the sport was just evolving.

Chuck in his prime was a great fighter, with more than power in his hands (threw KO blows without putting his weight into the punch).

You got that order wrong buddy. How can Wand be above Shogun? Shogun won the 205 tournament in Pride at 23 years of age, the same tournament that Wanderlei got defeated by Arona, whom Shogun KOd in the next round. He demolished Lil Nog and Overeem to win. I love Wanderlei, but his title reign was a bit of a joke - not his fault - but he was a huge star and Pride was not exactly run legitimately, so he was fed cans.

Wanderlei lost to all the legitimate fighters he faced: Henderson 2x, Liddell, Ortiz, Belfort, Franklin 2x... his highlight and claim to being a LHW GOAT was KOing Rampage twice, and Rampage got his revenge once they met in the octagon. Shogun went on to become the UFC LHW champ and KOing an undefeated Machida. Their resumes fighting elite competition and night and day different.

I'll stop there as they have been out of their primes since then, but I'd even have Rampage above Wand just because he beat many of the names listed above that Wand couldn't.

....And war Chuck! He'd be number six in my books.
