Poirer is supposed to do something about this? Dustin Poirer are you kidding me? News flash Dustin will be a huge underdog in that fight and get smashed. Its a good fight to watch because Poirer is a hell of a fighter but he doesnt have the skill set to provide any problems for Khabib.

Poirier has earned his shot, but there is nothing in particular to make one think he will mount significant amounts of resistance in terms of wrestling.

Stylistically he doesn't really map well onto Khabib's game to boot.

Tough fight, but the guy has certainly earned it.

"No problems" How many crazy upsets do fans have to see before they stop saying fighter X has no chance?

And as far as cardio goes, Khabib has never fought 5 rounds at the pace the Poirier just did. He had to take round 3 off just to prepare for rounds 4 & 5 vs Al & Cahnuh.

Poirier has 2 advantages & that's boxing(power, speed, offense, & defense) & Cardio. Boxing isnt even close, HUGE advantage for Poirier here & every fight & round starts on the feet. And nobody can say anyone has better cardio than Dustin after he out-cardio'd Max.

Will he win, probably not, but to say he can't give Khabib any problems is just plain stupid.

Only problem, as we've seen over and over again, the good boxers freeze up with the threat of takedown. And getting taken down and pounded hampers your cardio differently than boxing. Still hoping to see Dustin pull it off, but I think he will be very tentative with his hands against Khabib.
