The first thing that obviously comes to mind is the incident with the Nogueira brothers throwing carrots at a bus, but others i can think of right now would be the Diaz/Miller group brawl in the octagon, the can/bottle throwing press conference and the boomerang attack by Werdum.

All thing considered, i don’t think the impact will be much greater than these incidents. probably a few months of legal issues and Mcgregor will be fighting early next year again.

Give Artem the boot he should have received ages ago.

All true except the fighting part, I think.

Conor has been stripped of TWO belts (a remarkable achievement, BTW). If he didn't want to fight with them, I doubt he wants to fight at all anymore.

It was a ploy to get stripped.
He’s gonna get charged with assault. This incident was premeditated. You must dim, or I’m just naive.

Am I doing this right?

Artem will be needed as a spokesperson for Conor on Russian TV to hype up the main event of Khabib vs Conor on the biggest event ever ‘Mayhem in Moscow’, now scheduled for 2019 instead of september this year because of Conor’s cocaine-fueled actions.

It is what it is, but Artem will be signed again for this event. The Russians love a rift between mainland Russia and Dagestan and Dana would love to exploit that.

The only issue is that Chiesa got cut, he could sue McGregor for a lot if chooses to

i would say the closest precedent is throwing the coke can. NSAC fined him $150k for that.

no idea what the ramifications for this will be.

but the guy hasn't shown any interest in fighting lately anyway, so a suspension isn't really punishment.

my guess is he gets fined. and pays a lot of lawyers fees.

These incidents can actually expedite fighters reluctant to fight in to contract. WME would definitely help Conor in this situation if he shows a willingness to work together. All these people in charge care about money first and foremost, and looking the other way to pressing charges could get someone a phat check here. Heck, just MMA in NY should remind us all how knee deep in political bs and corruption is in The Big Apple.

It is indeed the closest precedent, but Conor is not involved with this event, so i doubt the NYSAC will be handing out a fine. Maybe one for Artem, but i don’t think they want to upset the cash cow Conor from UFC 205.
There will be tons of legal problems for Conor though.

interesting point. surely they will address it before the ever license him, but you're right, they cannot punish Conor.

Dana can. Dana won't.

no one is going to press charges, like when Mike Tyson beat up Mitch Green and Green pressed charges.

so i suppose the city charges him with some shit, he pays $100k in lawyer fees, pays $5k in fines, pays to fix the bus, maybe pays the hotel, and he never fights in NY.

Yeah, i’m really wondering what Dana will do. This messes up a whole lot of plans for this year, so he might be forced to recoup some costs, but he will probably not want to mess up the relationship with Conor.
Michael Chiesa will sue, but not disproportionally and the scummiest of all, Ali Abdelaziz will hit Conor with a 30 million dollar lawsuit for PTSS-related medical issues.

Floyd also got off easy for beating his woman because Las Vegas loved their cash cow.

Seeing as Dana announced that Brock would be coming back this year, i have no doubt that Vinnie Mac wanted Mcgregor in a swap deal. Could still happen if McGregor can get a visa this year.

Don't think Mcgregor will get criminally charged. Once Dana cools down, im sure hes going to want to cash in on a huge Mcgregor vs Khabib fight and im sure hes going to want to do this as soon as possible.

Conor will never fight in Russia. If it happens it would be in the US, likely New York. Its a PPV and the timing for Russia doesnt work, would have to be at like 6AM local time.

The PPV market is peanuts compared to breaking through in Russia, Eastern-Europe and the Middle East. Dana needs a big worldwide event and this one is a perfect start.

Mayhem in Moscow will be first and the following year will have a Strong in Hong Kong event.

PPV is yesterday’s news.

UFC is still obsessed with PPV. The world has moved on but not the UFC. Any Conor fight will be in the US. Anywhere else, it may be Canada or London but nowhere else. It has to cater to US primetime too, so no Russia.

Can you really not see him fighting in Moscow? It would have been huge without the bus incident, but now it is that much bigger.

I’m just wondering about the timeframe because of legal issues. It was supposed to happen on september 15, but i can see it being postponed to the end of the year or 2019.
