First page here is full with Conor threads. Lets give some credit to another fight on the card. Holly showed allot of heart trying to get out of that choke. Many others would have gave up and tapped way before going unconscious like she did. I think she showed that she has the tools to win in a rematch.

Does she win a rematch ? Can she beat Ronda again ?

Congrats to Tate on the upset.
 
Dude I like Holly, but she is so damn boring.

Her opponents are the only thing making her fights exciting, all she does is wait for her opponents to come foward

Holly is probably still the best standup fighter in the division. The problem is her ground game still looked pretty bad. Tate was just a lot smarter and had a much better game plan than Ronda who thought she could beat Holly at her own game.
 
holly did get out of the first choke attempt, despite lookin like a noob on the ground...
 
She was so naive to get caught with that choke.
 
It's amazing she's been so successful as she has with virtually no ground game just some basic defensive skills. Still outclassed Tate on the feet. A total fish out of water on the ground or off her back though.

Holly is the best standup fighter in the division!
She doesn't need a ground game since she snuffs like everyone's takedowns aside from Miesha's who failed 80% of the time trying.

She didn't used to be called Miesha 'Takedown' Tate for nothing.

It would be hard to argue her stand up not being the best. Can Ronda get her down is the real question. Because if she can then there is a good chance Holly is getting subbed.

I've seen so many on here say styles make fights and Tate is a wrestler and Ronda doesn't use double-leg takedowns. That's true to an extent but the final takedown Meisha got was from a body clinch and a trip. Something Olympic Judoka's are usually pretty good at.

The difference in the fights is night and day. Ronda fought stupid, had a poor gameplan and bought in to her coaches and hangers on that she could strike with a much better boxer. She wades right in to the pocket and takes punches trying to land one. By the time Ronda tried taking Holly down, she was already hurt by her own admissions. On the other hand, Tate fought smart and avoided taking much damage on their feet and knew where she had to take the fight to win.

Whether she beats Miesha in a rematch depends on if she can keep the fight standing. I don't think it's likely she'll beat Ronda again now that Ronda has seen how to beat her though.

there is some truth to it, tho'!!! gsp fights more exciting, IMO. Holm is a pointfighter, Ben Henderson and gsp brought more to the table IMO...

I don't think she's the best standup fighter in the division. Miesha's striking is not that great but she was able to hang with Holm and tag her a bunch of times.

Don't forget how competitive the Pennington fight was either.

Holly is a true champion.
Not an ounce of quit in her.
I just wish she would finish
more. She has the skill and
the endurance. It isn't as
though Meisha hasn't been
Ko'd by a head kick in the past..

She can beat any female in that
division, imo. But she needs to
lace her skills together as
"efficiently" as she did against
Ronda. With Meisha, I think she
respect her grappling too much.
