Since there's about 6,000 threads talking about the "upcoming" GSP/Nate fight and tons of people acting as if it's a done deal..... We need to clear the air.

There's no indication at ALL that this is anywhere near a done deal. The only thing known right now is that Dana has proposed the fight, THAT'S IT. That's literally it.

So you can stop trashing GSP for taking this fight or wondering why it's happening or freaking out about it. Dana proposed this fight because Dana likes money, and also because Dana is obligated to periodically offer fights to all fighters on the roster. GSP has not accepted or expressed any interest in this fight. Nate has not accepted or expressed any interest in this fight. So let's stop confusing people by spreading lies and talking like it's a done deal, alright? This fight is no more real than GSP/Khabib, GSP/Conor, or GSP/Brock fucking Lesnar at this point. It's a fantasy.

Isn't it confirmed for 227?

That said, I REALLY hope this fight doesn't happen.

Dumbest match-up in ages.

THIS FIGHT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

Clear enough?o_O

Nothing has been confirmed, but the fact that everyone on this forum are making threads about it makes it seem like so.

But like OP has said, as of now, we only know Dana is offering them the fight. We have no clue if either GSP or Diaz wants that fight. The chances of it actually happening are very slim.

You dont know what Nate or GSP have expressed interest in or agreed to.

Isn't it confirmed for 227?.
No, it's not. And that's the issue with people talking about rumours as if they're a done deal.

Dana simply said "In my perfect world, if everything goes perfect, and nothing ever goes perfect in this world, it will be Dillashaw vs Garbrandt, GSP vs Diaz would be the co-main, Gustafsson vs Rockhold and Brunson vs Antonio Carlos Jr."

That's it. That's where all this is coming from. It's nowhere near confirmed for 227.

No. Dana has confirmed he wants it to take place and wants it at 227. He has also confirmed he offered it only to fulfill contractual obligations, and Helwani reported both men aren't interested

Fight shouldn't happen but I can't rule out the fight happening in this Mickey Mouse Club of an organization.

True. For all I know GSP has expressed interest in retiring from MMA to pursue a new career as a professional ballet dancer.

But I don't talk about that like it's a done deal, because it hasn't been confirmed by anyone or anything. The same reason we shouldn't talk about GSP/Nate like it's a done deal because it hasn't been confirmed by anyone or anything.

I don't really understand how the contract thing works. Basically he said Diaz has to fight 3 times a year according to his contract or else he has to pay him? Didn't really get that part.

And if he doesn't fight, it just extends the contract..

Don't really get it, but the way he was talking, both the Diaz bros are still under contract. I don't think GSP is tho.

No he doesn't have to fight, he has to be offered 3 fights a year or he has to pay them. Basically he is contractually obligated to offer every fighter a certain number of fights or he has to pay them for keeping them on the shelf. The fighter can turn fights downed if the fighter is turning the fights down they don't have to pay them because it is the fighters decision to stay inactive and not the UFC's

Basically if Dana doesn't offer Nate and GSP a certain number of fights he has to pay both of them. And since they keep turning fights down for differing reasons he figures might as well offer them each other and get two contractually obligated fight offers to of the way at once . Because it's a win-win for the UFC. Either they say no and he doesn't have to pay them or they say yes and Dana gets a fight that will make him a lot of money

Las Vegas has come out with a line and it's not under the prop section. It's under the UFC 227 card which would lead me to believe that this silliness might just happen.....and they've only opened him a -200 favorite.Someone knows something

GSP is under contract btw as far as I can tell although he has hinted in the past at having a lawyer who says he can break his contract

Nah, that's not necessarily how it works. Vegas also came out with a line for that bogus Conor/Mayweather "MMA fight in a cage with modified rules" that was reported by Forbes awhile ago. There was even a line for Jones/Brock for a bit when that was rumoured. Vegas coming out with a line for a rumoured fight doesn't mean anything.

That just makes it as "real" as Floyd/Conor II under boxing rules in a UFC cage

Your just as bad as them tho
Presenting something as a fact when neither of you know how far along the negotiations are.

Yes- but that was in the future/PROP section. Big difference .
I'm not saying it's going to happen but because they actually penned it under the UFC 227 card- there's a good chance.
(Believe me - I know what I'm talking about)

....and it took a long while for mcgregor Floyd to come to fruition

The fuck you talking about.

All I said is that neither GSP or Diaz has publicly expressed any interest in this fight, and that this rumour has come from a quote Dana said about his dream card for 227. That's it. Those are the facts. You can't argue with actual facts, no matter what the Trump administration has tried to teach us.

Again, it's in the future/PROP section(floyd conor 2)-no date no nothing- big difference.
For the record, I think a gsp- Nate fight is silly.....im just calling em as I sees em
